Hubungan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Energi dan Food Waste Behavior dengan Status Gizi pada Mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada

Latar Belakang: Angka prevalensi permasalahan gizi individu dewasa di DIY masih melebihi angka nasional. Mahasiswa berada pada fase dewasa muda di mana terjadi peralihan dari lingkungan sekolah ke perguruan tinggi yang berpotensi memperburuk diet mahasiswa. Status gizi dipengaruhi oleh pemenuhan kebutuhan energi. Selain itu, food waste behavior merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap status gizi.
Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemenuhan kebutuhan energi dan food waste behavior dengan status gizi pada mahasiswa UGM.
Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian cross-sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quota sampling. Terdapat 111 mahasiswa UGM mencakup jenjang D4 dan S1 yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini. Pemenuhan kebutuhan energi mahasiswa diukur melalui wawancara dengan instrumen food recall 3 x 24 jam. Food waste behavior mahasiswa diukur dengan food waste behavior questionnaire. Status gizi mahasiswa didapatkan dengan pengukuran antropometri berat badan dan tinggi badan. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Korelasi Rank Spearman.
Hasil Penelitian: Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa pemenuhan kebutuhan energi 65.8% mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori normal, 68.5% mahasiswa termasuk dalam unsatisfactory food waste behavior, dan 67.6% mahasiswa memiliki status gizi normal. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemenuhan kebutuhan energi dengan status gizi mahasiswa UGM (p value = 0.000 < 0>p value = 0.634 > 0.05) dengan kekuatan korelasi sebesar -0.046.
Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan anatra pemenuhan kebutuhan energi dengan status gizi mahasiswa UGM. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara food waste behavior dengan status gizi mahasiswa UGM.

Background: The prevalence rate of nutrition problems among adults in Yogyakarta still exceeds the national rate. College students are in the young adult phase and experience a transition from the school environment to college, which has the potential to worsen their dietary habits. Nutritional status is influenced by the fulfillment of energy needs. In addition, food waste behavior is one of the factors that can affect nutritional status.
Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between energy needs fulfillment and food waste behavior with nutritional status among UGM students.
Method: This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique used in this study was quota sampling. There were 111 UGM students, including D4 and S1 levels, who became the subject of this study. Fulfillment of student energy needs was measured using a 3x24-hour food recall interview. The food waste behavior of students was measured by the food waste behavior questionnaire. The nutritional status of students was obtained by anthropometric measurements of body weight and height. The statistical test performed was the Spearman Rank Correlation test.
Results: Descriptive analysis shows that the fulfillment of energy needs of 65.8% of students is included in the normal category, 68.5% of students are included in unsatisfactory food waste behavior, and 67.6% of students have a normal nutritional status. There is a significant relationship between the fulfillment of energy needs and the nutritional status of UGM students (p value = 0.000 < 0 xss=removed> 0.05), with a correlation strength of - 0.046.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the fulfillment of energy needs and nutritional status of UGM students. There is no significant relationship between food waste behavior and nutritional status of UGM students.
