Pengaruh Natural Gas Rent, Oil Consumption, dan Coal Consumption terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Indonesia

Indonesia sebagai negara yang memiliki sumber daya alam melimpah, terutama pada natural gas, oil, dan coal memeliki peengaruh penting terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh natural gas rent, oil consumption, dan coal consumption terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi secara jangka panjang dan pendek di Indonesia menggunakan metode Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) dari tahun 1980-2021. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jika dalam jangka panjang variabel natural gas rent berpangruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Sementara itu, dalam jangka pendek, natural gas rent dan coal consumption juga berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan. Hal ini dapat berimplikasi pada natural recurse. Di sisi lain, oil consumption justru berpengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi dalam jangka pendek . Hal ini menunjukkan ketergantungan tinggi pada aktivitas ekonomi di Indonesia terhadap bahan bakar minyak, terutama di sektor transportasi dan industri. 

Indonesia, endowed with abundant natural resources—particularly natural gas, oil, and coal—relies heavily on these commodities as key drivers of economic activity. This study investigates the impacts of natural gas rent, oil consumption, and coal consumption in short-run and long-run on Indonesia’s economic growth using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model over the period 1980 –2021. The empirical results reveal that natural gas rent has a statistically significant negative effect on economic growth in the long run. Meanwhile, both natural gas rent and coal consumption also exhibit significant negative effects on short run, suggesting the presence of a natural resource curse. Conversely, oil consumption is found to have a positive and significant influence on economic growth in the short run, highlighting Indonesia’s high dependence on oil-based fuels, particularly in the transportation and industrial sectors.
