Efek Penambahan Nano Kitosan pada Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kenikir (Cosmos caudatus K.) terhadap Pertumbuhan Candida albicans ATCC 10321 In Vitro

Keanekaragaman tumbuhan dapat menjadi potensi yang dapat menunjang pengobatan. Senyawa flavonoid pada ekstrak daun kenikir dapat berperan sebagai antijamur. Optimalisasi efek antijamur dapat ditingkatkan dengan penambahan nano kitosan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek penambahan berbagai konsentrasi nano kitosan pada ekstrak daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus K.) 5% terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans.
Subjek penelitian berjumlah 24 sampel yang terbagi dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok A merupakan ekstrak etanol daun kenikir, kelompok B ekstrak etanol daun kenikir dan nano kitosan 1%, kelompok C ekstrak etanol daun kenikir dan nano kitosan 1,5 %, dan kelompok D ekstrak etanol daun kenikir dan nano kitosan 2%. Uji daya hambat pertumbuhan C. albicans menggunakan media padat Muller Hinton Agar (MHA). Sumuran berdiameter 4 mm dibuat sebanyak 4 pada tiap cawan petri lalu diisi dengan 50?L larutan uji yaitu formulasi esktrak etanol daun kenikir dan berbagai konsentrasi nano kitosan. Media diinkubasi 24 jam dengan suhu 37ºC lalu dilakukan pengukuran diameter zona hambat. Data dianalisis statistik One-way ANOVA dan uji Post Hoc Tukey (p<0>
Hasil uji One-way ANOVA menunjukkan penambahan berbagai konsentrasi nano kitosan pada ekstrak etanol daun kenikir berpengaruh terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan C. albicans. Uji Post Hoc Tukey menunjukkan bahwa tidak mendapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok dalam menghambat C. albicans. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah Penambahan konsentrasi nano kitosan 1%, 1,5%, dan 2% signifikan setara kemampuannya pada daya terhadap pertumbuhan C. albicans

Plant diversity can be a potential resource to support medicinal treatments. Flavonoid compounds in cosmos leaf extract have antifungal properties. The optimization of antifungal effects can be enhanced by the addition of nano chitosan. This study aims to determine the effect of adding various concentrations of nano chitosan to 5% cosmos leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus K.) on the growth of Candida albicans.
The study involved 24 samples divided into 4 treatment groups. Group A consisted of ethanol extract of cosmos leaves, Group B of ethanol extract of cosmos leaves with 1% nano chitosan, Group C of ethanol extract of cosmos leaves with 1.5% nano chitosan, and Group D of ethanol extract of cosmos leaves with 2% nano chitosan. The inhibitory effect on C. albicans growth was tested using Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) solid media. Four wells with a diameter of 4 mm were made in each petri dish and filled with 50 ?L of the test solution, which were formulations of ethanol extract of cosmos leaves combined with various concentrations of nano chitosan. The One-way ANOVA test results showed that the addition of various concentrations of nano chitosan to ethanol extract of cosmos leaves influenced the inhibitory effect on C. albicans growth. The Post Hoc Tukey test showed no significant differences between groups in inhibiting C. albicans. The conclusion of this study is that the addition of nano chitosan concentrations of 1%, 1.5%, and 2% has equivalent significant effects on inhibiting the growth of C. albicans.
