Altruistic Surrogacy Ditinjau Dari Perspektif Effective Altruism Peter Singer

Altruistic Surrogacy merupakan sebuah prosedur alternatif bagi para orang tua yang ingin mendapatkan keturunan dan didasarkan pada alasan altruistic  perempuan yang ingin membantu perempuan lain untuk mendapatkan keturunan. Isu dalam praktik Surrogacy berkaitan dengan eksploitasi dan komodifikasi  termasuk dengan praktik Altruistic Surrogacy yang mengandalkan empati dan rasa sukarela perempuan untuk terlibat jauh dalam praktik Altruistic Surrogacy.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis permasalahan etis dalam Altruistic Surrogacy secara faktual melalui perspektif Effective Altruism Peter  Singer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif deskriptif mengenai fenomena faktual yakni Altruistic Surrogacy yang ditinjau melalui pemikiran Effective Altruism Peter Singer. Unsur metodis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini  meliputi: deskripsi, interpretasi, koherensi internal, holistik, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat ibu pengganti yang mengalami eksploitasi dari segi emosional dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk mengikuti prosedur Altruistic Surrogacy. Altruistic Surrogacy merugikan perempuan dengan  mengabaikan sisi emosional dan keputusan secara pribadi. Terdapat indikasi yang  mengarah kepada eksploitasi dan tidak sesuai dengan prinsip Effective Altruism.  Melalui Effective Altruism Peter Singer diketahui penilaian moral dan pengambilan  keputusan tidak hanya mengandalkan empati, tetapi juga harus rasional dan  efektif. 

Altruistic Surrogacy is an alternative procedure for parents to obtain offspring and is based on the altruistic reason of women who want to help other women to get offspring. Issues in the practice of surrogacy are related to  exploitation and commodification including the practice of Altruistic Surrogacy  which relies on women’s empathy and sense of volunteering to engage deeply in the practic of Altruistic Surrogacy. This study aims to identify and analyze problems in  Altruistic Surrogacy factually to solve ethical problems through the perspective of  Effective Altruism Peter Singer. The research method used is descriptive qualitative  about the factual phenomenon of Altruistic Surrogacy which is reviewed through the  thought of Effective Altruism Peter Singer. The methodical elements used in this study include: description, interpretation, internal coherence, holistic, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that there is an ethical problem where  surrogate mothers who experience emotional exploitation in making decisions to  follow the Altruistic Surrogacy procedure. Altruistic Surrogacy harms women by  neglecting the emotional and personal side of the decision. There are indications that  lead to exploitation and not in accordance with the principle of Effective Altruism.  Through Effective Altruism Peter Singer know that moral judgment and decision making not only rely on empathy, but must also be rational and effective.
