Profil Tingkat Pengetahuan dan Eksplorasi Masalah terkait Pengetahuan pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus di Puskesmas Kota Yogyakarta Bagian Barat

    Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan suatu penyakit kronis yang dapat menimbulkan komplikasi sehingga dapat menyebabkan penurunan kualitas hidup manusia. Pengetahuan mengenai DM merupakan sarana penting yang harus dimiliki pasien DM agar dapat menangani penyakitnya sehingga dapat mencegah komplikasi dan dapat mencapai tujuan terapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan mengeksplorasi permasalahan yang dihadapi pasien dalam memahami dan memperoleh pengetahuan terkait penyakit diabetes melitus. 

    Penelitian ini menggunakan rancagan cross sectional dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Sampel yang diambil merupakan pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas Kota Yogyakarta bagian barat yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari - Februari 2025 dan diperoleh 100 responden. Tingkat pengetahuan responden diukur menggunakan instrumen Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ)-24 dan dilanjutkan dengan wawancara untuk mengeksplorasi masalah terkait pengetahuan pasien DM. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji mann-whitney dan deskriptif analitik menggunakan software SPSS dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel persentase.

    Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan pasien DM di Puskesmas Kota Yogyakarta bagian Barat berada pada kategori sedang (87%) dengan rata-rata skor 12,92±2,60. Hasil analisis menggunakan uji  mann-whitney menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara usia dengan tingkat pengetahuan pasien DM. Sedangkan untuk karakteristik lain seperti jenis kelamin, tinggal bersama keluarga, pendidikan, pekerjaan, penghasilan, dan durasi DM menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan dengan tingkat pengetahuan pasien mengenai penyakit DM. Beberapa permasalahan yang ditemukan terkait dengan pengetahuan pasien DM yaitu daya ingat yang kurang baik, kurangnya kemampuan dalam memahami informasi dengan istilah medis, serta kurangnya kesadaran diri.

    Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that can cause complications that can lead to a decrease in the quality of human life. Knowledge about DM is an important tool that DM patients must have in order to be able to treat their disease so that they can prevent complications and achieve therapeutic goals. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and explore the problems faced by patients in understanding and obtaining knowledge related to diabetes mellitus.

    This study used a cross-sectional design with sampling using the accidental sampling technique. The samples taken were type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the West Yogyakarta City Health Center who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was conducted in January - February 2025 and obtained 100 respondents. The level of knowledge of respondents was measured using the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ)-24 instrument and continued with interviews to explore problems related to the knowledge of DM patients. The data obtained were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and analytical descriptive using SPSS software and presented in the form of a percentage table.

    The results of the study showed that the level of knowledge of DM patients at the West Yogyakarta City Health Center was in the moderate category (87%) with an average score of 12.92 ± 2.60. The results of the analysis using the Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a relationship between age and the level of knowledge of DM patients. While for other characteristics such as gender, living with family, education, occupation, income, and duration of DM showed no relationship with the level of knowledge of patients regarding DM. Several problems found related to the knowledge of DM patients were poor memory, lack of ability to understand information with medical terms, and lack of self-awareness.
