Implikasi Teknologi Deepfake Terhadap Karakter Moral Manusia Melalui Perspektif Technomoral Virtues Shannon Vallor

Penelitian ini mengangkat permasalahan mengenai pengembangan serta penggunaan dari teknologi deepfake yang dapat berimplikasi terhadap karakter moral manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan interpretasi pemikiran Shannon Vallor mengenai technomoral virtues sebagai kerangka teoritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan bagaimana seharusnya manusia merespons secara bijak berbagai implikasi moral yang ditimbulkan oleh teknologi deepfake melalui pembentukan karakter moral yang relevan dan adaptif. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Tahapan penelitian meliputi pengumpulan data, klasifikasi data, pengolahan data, dan penyajian data. Data-data yang didapatkan tersebut dianalisis dengan melibatkan unsur-unsur metodis seperti deskripsi, interpretasi, heuristika, dan refleksi kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan teknologi deepfake telah memunculkan pilihan-pilihan moral baru dalam kehidupan manusia. Kehadiran pilihan-pilihan ini memengaruhi keputusan serta tindakan moral individu, yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada proses pembentukan karakter moral. Dalam konteks ini, pengadopsian technomoral virtues menjadi penting sebagai landasan dalam membentuk karakter moral yang relevan dengan tantangan teknologi deepfake. Namun, implementasi technomoral virtues belum sepenuhnya efektif, karena kompleksitas realitas yang dihadirkan oleh teknologi deepfake. Meskipun demikian, technomoral virtues tetap dapat dijadikan sebagai konsep ideal agar individu mampu merespons perkembangan teknologi deepfake secara bijak dan bertanggung jawab, sehingga arah pengembangan dan penggunaannya dapat mendukung kesejahteraan manusia secara menyeluruh. 

This research examines the issues surrounding the development and utilization of deepfake technology, which carry significant implications for the formation of human moral character. The study adopts Shannon Vallor’s conceptualization of technomoral virtues as its theoretical framework. The primary objective of this research is to articulate how individuals ought to respond wisely to the moral implications engendered by deepfake technology, through the cultivation of a relevant and adaptive moral character. Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing a literature review as its primary method of data collection. The research process consists of several stages, including data collection, data classification, data analysis, and data presentation. The data are analyzed through the application of methodological components such as description, interpretation, heuristics, and critical reflection. The findings of this study indicate that the advancement of deepfake technology has given rise to novel moral choices within human life. These choices influence individual moral decision-making and behavior, ultimately affecting the development of moral character. In this context, the integration of technomoral virtues is deemed essential as a normative foundation for moral character formation in the face of technological challenges posed by deepfake innovations. Nevertheless, the implementation of technomoral virtues has not yet proven entirely effective, due to the complexity of the realities constructed by deepfake technology. Despite these limitations, technomoral virtues remain a valuable ideal, guiding individuals to respond to technological advancements in a prudent and responsible manner, thereby enabling the development and use of the technology to contribute to the comprehensive well-being of humanity.
