Konsep Calabai dalam pandangan komunitas Bissu di Pangkep Sulawesi Selatan :: Sebuah kajian fenomenologi Edmund Husserl

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap konsep dasar (esensi) dari fenomena ke-calabai-an komunitas Bissu. Pengungkapan ini dibatasi pada tiga pokok permasalahan, yaitu (1) pandangan filosofis, khususnya pandangan Bissu tentang Tuhan dan manusia, (2) Hakikat calabai dalam pandangan Bissu, dan (3) Fenomenologi Husserl dalam membaca fenomena calabai Bissu. Penilitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi Husserl. Fenomenologi adalah suatu ilmu dan metode untuk mengungkapkan makna terdalam (esensi) dari suatu fenomena. Manusia mampu menangkap esensi dari suatu fenomena. Esensi dalam fenomenologi Husserl berarti kesadaran manusia akan dunia, yaitu dunia yang nampak dihadapan manusia yang telah di reduksi. Filsafat tellu (tiga) dalam komunitas Bissu sangat berpengaruh, yaitu suatu konsep yang memandang segala fenomena yang ada bersumber dari tiga hal atau sesuatu. Sehingga, menurut Bissu ada tiga tingkatan calabai, (1) calabai tungke’na lino (Bissu), (2) paccalabi, (3) calabai kedo-kedonami, yang membedakan Bissu dengan kedua jenis calabai itu adalah Bissu tidak boleh kawin dan harus menjaga prilaku agar tidak menyimpang senantiasa suci. Hal ini dikarenakan tugas Bissu sebagai wasilah antara dunia dewa dan manusia. Ke-calabai-an Bissu datangnya dari Dewata atau takdir dan merupakan simbol bahwa Dewata memiliki ketidakjelasan jenis kelamin, sehingga ke-calabai-an Bissu bersifat sakral dan suci atau merupakan konsep spritual-transedental. Suatu posisi yang mampu menghindarkan Bissu untuk tidak melakukan hubungan seksual.

This research aims to find the essence of phenomenon of Bissu community’s calabai. This research focus on the three subject matter, i.e. (1) The philosophy world view, in regard to the Bissu perspective about God and human being, (2) The Bissu perspective about calabai essnce, and (3) the Bissu calabau phenomenon in perspective Husserl’s phenomenology. The research uses Husserl’ phenomenology approach. Phenomenology is science and method to find essence of the certain phenomenon. Human has capability to invent essence of the certain phenomenon. The essence in Husserl’ phenomenology is the conciousness of human about the world, that is, the world has experienced reduction. The philosophy of tellu theree) in Bissu community has great influence in their world view. That see that all phenomenon has source in the three ontologic origin. Consequently, Bissu devides the three level of calabai, i.e. (1) Calabai tungke’na lino, (2) Paccalabai, (3) Calabai kedo-kedonami. Two of the letter is difference from the former in which the former is not admitted to married and must keep their sacred. Because, the task of Bissu is wasilah between Gods and human world. The calabai of Bissu is destination or sterm from God directly. The calabai of Bissu is symbol that God have no gender identity, so that, they are sacral and sacred or have the spiritual -trancedental consept. The position make possible Bissu to avoid the sex relation.
