Oleaginous fungi are one of the subjects to meet the increasing need for fatty acids that are not accompanied by other resources such as vegetable and animal oils. Mucor irregularis JR 1.1 is able to accumulate lipids up to 43,46% using glucose as the main source of carbon. The use of H2O2+ethanol and litium chloride (LiCl) may be selective agents in determining potential mutan strains in lipid production. The research analysis was conducted to determine potential mutan strains in lipid production. The research analysis was conducted to determine the effect of UVC light mutagenesis on the lipid production of lipid strains of mutan selected using these selective agents. Variation in exposure to UV-C radiation (30 Watt) with a time interval of 30 seconds untul it reaches a 95?ll death percentage. Then mutant strain selection with selective agents at the concentraitons of H2O2+ethanol (mmol/:% v/v) (1:1) and lithium chloride (%) (0,5% interval). The effect of UV-C radiation (180 seconds) increased the lipid production of the mutan strain M51 (LiCl) by up to 2,46x compared to the WT1 wildytpe strain with a lipid percentage of 35,46±2,36%. Anaysis of fatty acid profiles using GC-MS showed changes in composition and persentage in wildtype and mutant strains of Mucor irregularis JR 1.1 by the UV-C mutagenesis. The types of fatty acids showed in an increase in persentages including oleic acid (M1) 28,67% and stearic acid (M51) 28,75%.
