Performans sapi bali di Kabupaten Yapen Waropen Papua

2004 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu PeternakanPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performans sapi Bali di Kabupaten Yapen Warope akan di kabupaten Yapen Waropen, Provinsi Papua, pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Oktober 2003 dengan 10 responden peternak yang meng ikat (2-15 ekor/peternak) dan 9 rnak yang menggunakan sistim ranch (4-55 ekor/peternak). Penelitian dilaksan gunakan sistim responden pete el yang diamati adalah berat lahir anak, pertambahan berat badan harian, konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, feed cost per gain, reproduksi ternak dan manajemen pemeliharaan ternak. Data pertambahan berat badan harian dianalisa dengan analisis kovariansi, sedang data identitas responden, berat lahir anak, skor manajemen pemeliharaan, konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, feed cost per gain dan reproduksi ternak ditabulasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan berat badan harian sapi jantan dan betina sebelum disapih pada sistim ikat dan ranch tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata, demikian juga pertambahan berat badan harian sapi betina sesudah disapih. Berat lahir tertinggi pada sapi jantan dan betina diperoleh pada sistim ranch (19,80±2,10 dan 16,30±4,83 kg/ekor) dibanding pada sistim ikat (17,43±4,01 dan 15,37±1,61 kg/ekor). Konsumsi bahan kering (BK) dan konsumsi protein kasar (PK) lebih besar pada sistim ikat yaitu sebesar 4,20±0,81 kg/ekor dan 0,49±0,09 kg/ekor dibanding pada sistim ranch yaitu 3,39±0,82 kg/ekor dan 0,42±0,10 kg/ekor. Konversi pakan dan feed cost per gain sapi Bali lebih tinggi pada sistim ikat dibanding pada sistim ranch (10,58±4,18 dan Rp.6.553,00/kg vs 9,11±1,99 dan Rp.3.843,00/kg). Umur induk dan selang beranak pada sistim ikat dan ranch adalah 6,00±1,71 tahun dan 499±19 hari vs 6,26±1,48 tahun dan 495±19 hari. Waktu sapih, estrus setelah beranak, kawin setelah beranak dan service per conception (S/C) berturut-turut pada sistim ikat adalah 191±19 hari, 86±20 hari, 104±19 hari dan 2,55±0,63. Skor manajemen pemeliharaan sapi Bali dengan sistim ikat dan ranch meliputi bibit (14,80±4,66 vs 17,78±2,79), pakan (12,60±1,27 vs 12,78±0,67), kesehatan (11,60±1,58 vs 12,22±0,67) dan pengelolaan (8,40±2,27 vs 15,78±4,84). Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah bahwa performans sapi Bali pada pemeliharaan sistim ikat dan ranch secara umum tidak menunjukkan perbedaan. Pertambahan berat badan harian pada sistim ikat dan ranch tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata. Selang beranak dan manajemen pemeliharaan pada sistim ranch lebih baik dari pada sistim ikat.
This study was aimed to find out the performance of the Bali cattle in Yapen Waropen Regency Papua. This study was carried out in Yapen Waropen Regency, Province of Papua from July to October 2003 with 10 respondents applying bunch system of rearing (2-15 head/beeder) and 9 respondents applying ranch system of rearing (4-55 head/breeder). The variables observed were the birth weight of calf, average daily gain, feed comsumption, feed conversion, feed cost per gain, reproductive performance of respective Bali cattle. The data on average daily gain were analyzed using covariance but data on respondent identification, birth weight of calf, the score for raising management, feed consumption, feed conversion, feed cost per gain, and reproductive performance of cattle were tabulated and subjected to descriptive analysis.The result of the study showed that average daily gain of bull calf and heifer calf on bunch system and ranch system did not differ significantly, similarly average daily gain of heifer calf post weaning ages. Highest birth weight of bull and heifer calf was obtained on ranch system (19.80±2.10 and 16.30±4.83 kg/head) while on bunch system (17.43±4.01 and 15.37±1.61 kg/head). Dry matter consumption (DM) and crude protein consumption (CP) was higher (4.20±0.81 kg and 0.49±0.09 kg/head/days) on bunch system than ranch system (3.39±0.82 kg and 0.42±0.10 kg/head/days). Feed conversion, feed cost per gain of Bali cattle was higher on bunch system than ranch system (10.58±4.18 and Rp.6.553.08/kg vs 9.11±1.99 and Rp.3.843/kg). Cow age and calving interval on bunch system and ranch system were 6.00±1.71 years and 498.66±19 days vs 6.26±1.48 years and 495.18±19 days. Weaning age, post partum estrus, post partum mating and service per conception (S/C) respectively on bunch system were 191±19 days, 86±20 days, 104±19 days and 2.55±0.63. The score of raising management Bali cattle on bunch system and ranch system including breed (14.80±4.66 vs 17.78±2.79), forage (12.60±1.27 vs 12.78±0.67), health (11.60±1.58 vs 12.22±0.67) and management (8.40±2.27 vs 15.78±4.84). The conclusion of this study was that the general performance of Bali cattle production on bunch and ranch system were not different. Average daily gain on bunch and ranch system did not different significantly. Calving interval and raising management on ranch system were much better than bunch system.
