Penduduk yang telah memasuki usia lanjut mengalami berbagai kemunduran, akibat kemunduran fisik lansia mengalami gangguan kesehatan atau penyakit, selain itu muncul masalah sosial, ekonomi akibat meningkatnya jumlah penduduk lansia. Penelitian yang berjudul "Karakteristik Penduduk Lansia Yang Memanfaatkan Fasilitas Kesehatan (Analisis Data Susenas Kor Propinsi Jawa Tengah 1998)" ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kesehatan lansia melalui informasi keluhan kesehatan yang dialami lansia dan mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan, lapangan usaha, jenis kelamin, dan keluhan kesehatan lansia terhadap pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan. Dalam penelitian ini memanfaatkan data Susenas Kor Propinsi Jawa Tengah 1998. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kondisi kesehatan lansia menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia mengalami keluhan berupa penyakit batuk, disusul keadaan yang tidak jelas, pilek, dan panas atau keluhan yang dialami sebagian besar berupa penyakit tidak menular. Hasil penelitian mengenai pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan menurut pendidikan, lapangan usaha, jenis kelamin, jenis keluhan, upah dan umur adalah terdapat perbedaan pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan yang signifikan menurut pendidikan lansia di perkotaan, sedangkan di perdesaan tidak terdapat perbedaan pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan menurut pendidikan, terdapat perbedaan pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan yang signifikan menurut lapangan usaha, menurut jenis kelamin, dan menurut lama sakit, tidak terdapat perbedaan pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan yang signifikan menurut jenis keluhan, menurut upah, dan menurut umur.

Population who have entered older ages experience various deteriorations. The effect of those physical deteriorations is that elderly suffer some diseases. In addition to that they are faced with the social and economic problems as the consequence of the increasing number of elderly. A research which is entitled "The Characteristic of Elderly Who Make Use of Health Facility (Susenas Data Analysis of Kor Central Java Province 1998)" aims at finding out the elderly's health condition through the information about the health complaint undergone by elderly and finding out the influence of education, job opportunities, sex, and the elderly's health complaint to the use of health facility. In this research, the writer utilizes the National Social-economy Survey data of Kor Central Java Province 1998. The method of analyses used is quantitative. The result of the research on the elderly's health condition indicates that most of the elderly's campaints are in the form of cough disease, followed by unclear condition, cold, and fever or the most complaint is a contagious disease. The result of the research on the making use of the health facility based on education, job apportunities, sex, helat compailnts, wage, and age are there are significant differences on making use of the health facility based on the elderly's education in urban areas, while in rural areas, there is no significant diference on the making use of health facility based on education. There are significant differences on the making use of helath facility based on job opportunities, based on sex, and based on the length of suffering. There are no significant difference on the making use of helath facility based on health compaint, based on wage and based on age.
