Efisiensi usahatani Melon di Kecamatan Wedi Kabupaten Klaten

Upaya peningkatan dan pencapaian pendapatan maksimal seorang petani dari usahatani melon dapat dilakukan dengan pengalokasian dan pemanfaatan input secara optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisa : berbagai faktor produksi yang mempengaruhi tingkat produksi, faktor-faktor sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi tingkat efisiensi teknis (TER), efisiensi penggunaan faktor- faktor produksi, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keuntungan dan tingkat efisiensi ekonomi Penelitian ini dilakukan di dua desa, yaitu : Pesu dan Jiwo Wetan, kecamatan Wedi, kabupaten Klaten. Penentuan responden sejumlah 60 petani dilakukan secara proporsional acak sederhana, pada petani yang menanam melon pada tahun 2003. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear berganda dengan metode Ordinary Least Squared (OLS), dan Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Efisiensi teknis diestimasi dengan fungsi produksi frontier stokastik tipe Cobb-Douglas, fungsi keuntungan unit output price frontier stokastik tipe Cobb- Douglas. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi melon adalah ZA, pestisida cair, tenaga kerja, luas lahan, skala usaha dan TER, sedangkan yang mempengaruhi keuntungan adalah harga riil benih, NPK, pestisida padat, tenaga kerja dan luas lahan. Pengalaman usahatani, intensitas penyuluhan dan skala usaha berpengaruh nyata terhadap Tingkat Efisiensi Teknis. Faktor produksi yang belum dialokasikan secara efisien adalah pupuk ZA sedangkan yang tidak efisien adalah benih, NPK, pestisida padat dan tenaga kerja. Usahatani melon yang dikelola petani menguntungkan namun secara teknis maupun ekonomi belum efisien.

Increasing and achiving maximal profit of melon farm could be through allocating the production factor efficiently. The aim of this research was to identify and analysis : the factors that affected production, social economy factors that affected Technical Efficiency Rating, the allocation efficiency of production factors of melon, factors that affected profit and the economic efficiency of melon farm. The research conducted at two villages : Pesu and Jiwo Wetan, Kecamatan Wedi, Kabupaten Klaten. The method of sample selection was proportional random sampling with 60 respondents who planted melon on 2003. The analyze method is Ordinary Least Squared (OLS) regression and Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Technical Efficiency analyzed by frontier stochastic production function type of Cobb-Douglas, Allocation Efficiency by marginal value product compare with the price of input, Economic Efficiency rating analyzed by frontier stochastic unit output price profit function type Cobb- Douglas. Production factors that affected production were ZA, liquid pesticides, labor, farm size, farm scale and TER. Some factors that affected real income were real price of seed, NPK, powder pestisides, wage of labor and farm size. Social economy factors that influence technical efficiency were experiances, intensity of agriculture extention and farm scale. Result of research indicated ZA, seed, NPK, powder pestisides and labor are not allocated efficiently. The result of research showed that melon farm is profitable but technically and economically not efficient yet.
