The house can act as a place to shelter, rest, gather with family. However, there are times when homeowners often feel worried because they cannot monitor their house thoroughly. Therefore, we need a control device that operates automatically or manually to monitor the condition of the house and can control it remotely. The design of a smart control system that operates automatically or manually with usersable to monitor and control remotely using IoT platform called IoT Remote on smartphone.
The smart home system being built consists of three parts, namely input, processing and output. The input consists of PIR and LDR sensors, then the data from these two sensors is collected by NodeMCU ESP8266 to be processed into instructions for automaticly controlling lights. The NodeMCU is tasked with sending and reading and controlling lights, motor servo, and motor stepper.
The data is read in Arduino IoT Cloud database storage which is used to display the results of sensor data readings in real time and send data based on controls in the IoT Remote application menu carried out by the user. Based on the test results, this system can be remotely controlled using digital switch commands through the Arduino IoT Cloud platform dashboard. It is also capable of monitoring light intensity levels via the LDR sensor and detecting motion impulses via the PIR sensor, both of which are integrated with the automatic lighting system.
