Skripsi ini membahas konsep ring grup sebagai struktur aljabar yang dibentuk dari gabungan antara ring dan grup, dengan fokus utama pada pengkajian sifat-sifat fundamental dari ring grup. Untuk memahami stuktur ini secara menyeluruh, dibahas terlebih dahulu teori dasar tentang grup dan ring dan dibatasi hanya sampai homomorfisma grup dan ring sebagai landasan dalam membentuk dan menganalisis ring grup. Selanjutnya, dikembangkan definisi formal ring grup RG, dengan R ring dan G grup, serta dikaji bagaimana sifat-sifat operasional dari R dan G berinteraksi dalam sturktur RG. Penelitian dilakukan melalui metode studi pustaka dan pendekatan deduktif terhadap teorema-teorema yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa sifat-sifat seperti komutatif, keberadaan identitas, serta bentuk elemen dan ideal dalam ring grup sangan bergantung pada karakteristik grup G dan ring R. Selain itu, diberikan contoh konkret ring grup untuk memperkuat pemahaman terhadap struktur tersebut. Melalui kajian ini, dicapai tujuan untuk memahami bagaimana ring grup dibentuk serta bagaimana sifat-sifat dan ideal, khususnya ideal augmentasi, berperan dalam struktur ring grup.

This thesis discusses the concept of group rings as algebraic structures formed by the combination of a ring and a group, with the main focus on examining the fundamental properties of group rings. To thoroughly understand this structure, the basic theory of groups and rings is first reviewed, limited to group and ring homomorphisms as the foundation for constructing and analyzing group rings. Subsequently, the formal definition of a group ring RG, where R is a ring and G is a group, is developed, and the interaction between the operational properties of R and G within the structure of RG is analyzed. The research is conducted through a literature review and a deductive approach to relevant theorems. The results show that properties such as commutativity, the existence of an identity element, and the structure of elements and ideals in the group ring heavily depend on the characteristics of the group G and the ring R. In addition, concrete examples of group rings are provided to strengthen the understanding of the structure. Through this study, the objective is achieved to understand how group rings are constructed and how their properties and ideals—particularly the augmentation ideal—play a role within the structure of a group ring
