Pengaruh Penggunaan Slat dan Sekam sebagai Alas Lantai Kandang Closed House terhadap Performance Ayam Broiler

Peningkatan produksi ayam broiler harus diimbangi dengan mengoptimalkan produktivitasnya. Peningkatan produktivitas ayam broiler salah satunya dengan pemilihan alas kandang yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan slat dan sekam sebagai alas lantai kandang closed house terhadap performance ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kandang closed house commercial dengan populasi rata-rata 22.000 ekor. Penelitian terdiri dari 2 perlakuan yaitu sekam dan slat. Pengambilan data dengan sampling ayam broiler setiap hari pada 10 titik kandang dan per titik sebanyak 20 ekor hingga umur ayam 21 hari selama 3 periode pemeliharaan ayam sebagai replikasi. Data diambil secara harian meliputi feed intake, body weight, dan mortalitas, serta perhitungan average daily gain dan feed conversion ratio. Data index performance ayam broiler dihitung pada hari ke 21 pemeliharaan. Data dianalisis dengan metode Independent T-Test menggunakan SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Hasil perhitungan feed intake, average daily gain, feed conversion ratio dan index performance ayam broiler tidak menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan (P>0,05). Hasil analisis terhadap body weight dan mortalitas dengan hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan slat dapat menurunkan angka mortalitas ayam broiler secara signifikan (P<0>slat sebagai alas lantai dapat meningkatkan performance ayam broiler.

Increasing broiler production must be balanced by optimizing its productivity. One of the ways to increase broiler productivity is by choosing good cage bedding. This research purpose to determine the effect of using slats and husks as floor mats for closed house cages on broiler performance. This research was conducted in a commercial closed house cage with an average population of 22,000 birds. The research consisted of 2 treatments, namely husk and slat. Data were collected by sampling broiler chickens every day at 10 points of the cage and per point as many as 20 chickens until the age of 21 days for 3 periods of chicken rearing as replication. Data were taken on a daily basis including feed intake, body weight, and mortality, as well as the calculation of average daily gain and feed conversion ratio. Broiler performance index data were calculated on the 21st day of rearing. Data were analyzed by Independent T-Test method using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The results of the calculation of feed intake, average daily gain, feed conversion ratio, and performance index of broiler chickens did not show significant results (P>0.05), while the analysis of body weight and mortality with these results showed that the use of slats can significantly reduce the mortality rate of broiler chickens (P<0>
