Minat Petani Pengunjung Pameran pada Varietas Unggul Baru Padi di Jateng Agro-innovation Expo

Peningkatan produktivitas pertanian memerlukan dukungan dari penerapan inovasi, termasuk salah satunya adalah penggunaan varietas unggul baru padi (VUB). Meskipun berbagai VUB telah tersedia, pemanfaatannya oleh petani masih relatif terbatas dan perlu mendapat perhatian. Selain itu, untuk meningkatkan kesadaran petani akan pentingnya VUB maka perlu dilakukan diseminasi inovasi, yang dalam hal ini dilakukan melalui pameran. Pameran yang dilaksanakan oleh Balai Pelatihan Pertanian Provinsi Jawa Tengah menampilkan demplot padi varietas Mantap, Srinuk, IPB3S, dan Gamagora. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat petani pengunjung pameran terhadap VUB padi, menganalisis peran pameran dalam memperkenalkan VUB padi, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat petani terhadap VUB padi di Jateng Agro-innovation Expo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 21–25 Agustus 2024 di Jateng Agro-innovation Expo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 190 petani yang ditentukan melalui teknik systematic random sampling. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji chi-square, uji proporsi, dan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa IPB 3S merupakan varietas yang paling banyak dipilih oleh petani pengunjung dibandingkan dengan Gamagora 7, Mantap, dan Srinuk. Mayoritas petani menyatakan bahwa pameran Jateng Agro-innovation Expo berperan dalam memperkenalkan varietas unggul baru padi. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat petani terhadap VUB padi di pameran tersebut meliputi lama usahatani, peran pameran, tingkat pendidikan, dan keikutsertaan dalam kelompok tani. Sementara itu, umur petani dan kemudahan akses terhadap benih tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat petani terhadap VUB padi.

Increasing agricultural productivity requires support from the application of innovations, including the use of new superior varieties of rice (VUB). Although various VUBs are available, their use by farmers is still relatively limited and needs attention. In addition, to increase farmers' awareness of the importance of VUB, it is necessary to disseminate innovations, which in this case is carried out through exhibitions. The exhibition held by the Central Java Provincial Agricultural Training Center featured demonstration plots of Mantap, Srinuk, IPB3S, and Gamagora varieties of rice. This study aims to find out the interest of farmers who visit the exhibition on rice VUB, analyze the role of the exhibition in introducing rice VUB, and identify the factors that affect farmers' interest in rice VUB at the Jateng Agro-innovation Expo. This research was carried out on August 21-25, 2024 at the Jateng Agro-innovation Expo. The research method used is a quantitative method with a sample of 190 farmers determined through systematic random sampling techniques. Data analysis techniques include the chi-square test, proportion test, and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that IPB 3S is the most chosen variety by visiting farmers compared to Gamagora 7, Mantap, and Srinuk. The majority of farmers stated that the Jateng Agro-innovation Expo exhibition played a role in introducing new superior varieties of rice. Factors that affect farmers' interest in rice VUB at the exhibition include the length of farming, the role of the exhibition, the level of education, and participation in farmer groups. Meanwhile, the age of farmers and the ease of access to seeds do not have a significant effect on farmers' interest in rice VUB.
