Eksplorasi Pengalaman Magang MSIB pada Mahasiswa terhadap Work Readiness: Studi Fenomenologi

Lulusan perguruan tinggi perlu memiliki tingkat kesiapan kerja yang tinggi agar dapat bersaing di dunia profesional. Program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) dirancang untuk meningkatkan kesiapan tersebut dengan memberikan pengalaman langsung di dunia industri. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa dalam program magang MSIB serta dampaknya terhadap kesiapan kerja mereka. Pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi deskriptif digunakan untuk memahami pengalaman subjektif mahasiswa dalam program ini.
Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan empat peserta yang telah mengikuti magang MSIB di perusahaan swasta. Teknik purposive sampling diterapkan untuk memastikan relevansi pengalaman partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman magang memberikan wawasan praktis, keterampilan teknis, serta keterampilan interpersonal yang esensial bagi kesiapan kerja mahasiswa. Partisipan menyatakan bahwa magang membantu mereka memahami dunia kerja, meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, adaptasi, dan komunikasi.
Selain itu, program magang berperan dalam membantu mahasiswa menemukan minat serta potensi karir mereka. Jaringan profesional yang dibangun selama magang juga memberikan manfaat bagi perkembangan karir di masa depan. Faktor lain yang turut memengaruhi kesiapan kerja mahasiswa adalah peran mentor serta lingkungan kerja yang mendukung.
College graduates need to have a high level of work readiness in order to compete in the professional world. The Certified Internship and Independent Study (MSIB) programme is designed to enhance such readiness by providing hands-on experience in the industrial world. This research explores students' experiences in the MSIB internship programme and its impact on their work readiness. A descriptive phenomenological qualitative approach was used to understand students' subjective experiences in the programme.
Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with four participants who have participated in MSIB internships in private companies. A purposive sampling technique was applied to ensure the relevance of the participants' experiences. The results showed that the internship experience provided practical insights, technical skills, and interpersonal skills that are essential for students' work readiness. Participants stated that internships helped them understand the world of work, improving problem-solving, adaptation, and communication skills.
In addition, internship programmes play a role in helping students discover their interests and career potential. The professional networks built during internships also provide benefits for future career development. Other factors that influence students' work readiness are the role of mentors and a supportive work environment.
