AN ANALYSIS OF THE INTIMATE LANGUAGE STYLE USED IN FIVE FEET APART MOVIE

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya bahasa intim yang digunakan oleh para tokoh dalam film Five Feet Apart serta hubungan antara faktor sosial Participant dan Setting yang memengaruhi penggunaan gaya bahasa intim tersebut. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan mengumpulkan data melalui metode penelitian visual. Hasil penelitian ini disajikan secara deskriptif. Penelitian ini menemukan 89 data gaya bahasa intim dalam film, yang terdiri atas: Addressee sebanyak 17 kemunculan (19,10%), Extraction sebanyak 5 kemunculan (5,62%), Jargon sebanyak 29 kemunculan (32,58%), hubungan Close Friend sebanyak 28 kemunculan (31,46%), dan hubungan Family sebanyak 10 kemunculan (11,24%). Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa hubungan antara faktor sosial Participant dan Setting memengaruhi penggunaan gaya bahasa intim dalam film. Sebagian besar percakapan dilakukan oleh tokoh-tokoh yang memiliki hubungan paling dekat dan menunjukkan kedekatan mereka. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa intim dalam Five Feet Apart paling terlihat dalam hubungan dekat dan dipengaruhi oleh latar percakapan, dengan latar pribadi yang mendorong ekspresi lebih intim. Faktor Participant dan Latar keduanya membentuk penggunaan gaya bahasa intim dalam dialog karakter.

This research aims to analyze the intimate language styles used by the characters in Five Feet Apart movie and the relationship between the social factors participants and the Setting affect the use of intimate style. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method and gathered the data with a visual research method to collect the data. The result of this research is presented descriptively. This research found 89 intimate language styles in the movie with those being addressee 17 occurrences (19.10%), Extraction 5 occurrences (5.62%), Jargon 29 occurrences (32.58%), Close Friend relationship 28 occurrences (31.46%), and Family Relationship 10 occurrences (11.24%). This research also found the relationship of the social factors between the Participant and the Setting affects the use of intimate style in the movie. Most of the conversation is being talked by the people that have the closest relationship and showing their intimacy. The study shows that intimate language styles in Five Feet Apart are most evident in close relationships and influenced by the conversation's setting, with private settings fostering more intimacy. Both Participant and Setting factors shape the use of intimate language in character dialogues.
