FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI FISIK MASKER GEL PEEL OFF BERBASIS ARANG AKTIF DAN MINYAK Eucalyptus citriodora (Hook.)

Eucalyptus citriodora (Hook.) merupakan salah satu pohon penghasil minyak atsiri yang memiliki peran penting dalam industri minyak atsiri di Indonesia. Minyak E. citriodora merupakan jenis minyak atsiri yang banyak dimanfaatkan dalam industri kecantikan dan farmasi, seperti obat gosok, obat batuk, parfum, disinfektan, dan kosmetik seperti masker gel peel off. Penelitian mengenai masker gel peel off berbasis minyak E. citriodora dan arang aktif bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian 8 formulasi antara 2 jenis konsentrasi minyak E. citriodora dan 4 jenis arang aktif untuk mengetahui pengaruh evaluasi fisik terhadap masker gel peel off. Parameter yang diuji meliputi rendemen, GC-MS, organoleptik minyak E. citriodora, berat jenis, indeks bias, kelarutan dalam alkohol, organoleptik masker gel peel off, homogenitas, daya sebar, pH, waktu mengering, kesukaan/hedonik, dan pengaplikasian pada wajah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rendemen minyak E. citriodora sebesar 0,39% - 0,54?ngan senyawa kimia terbanyak yaitu beta-pinene sebesar 43,72%. Uji organoleptik telah sesuai SNI 3954:2014 dengan indeks bias sebesar 1,467 - 1,469, berat jenis sebesar 1,13 - 1,14 g/ml dan kelarutan dalam alkohol 1:3. Evaluasi fisik formulasi masker gel peel off menunjukkan organoleptik dan homogenitas yang baik, daya sebar 5,5 - 6,4 cm, pH sebesar 7,5, waktu mengering baik antara 15 - 30 menit, kesukaan/hedonik di range angka 4 (suka), dan mengaplikasikannya pada wajah dengan hasil yang baik.

Eucalyptus citriodora (Hook.) is one of the essential oil producing trees which has an important role in the essential oil industry in Indonesia. E. citriodora oil is a type of essential oil that is widely used in the beauty and pharmaceutical industries, such is liniment, cough medicine, perfume, disinfectant, and cosmetics such as peel off masks. Research on peel off gel masks based on E. citriodora oil and activated charcoal aims to determine the suitability of 8 formulations between 2 types of E. citriodora oil concentrations and 4 types of activated charcoal to determine the effect of physical evaluation on peel off gel masks. Parameters tested include yield, GC-MS, organoleptic of peel off gel mask, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, drying time, preference/hedonic, and application on the face. The research result showed that the yield of E. citriodora oil was 0.39% - 0.54% with the largest chemical compound namely beta-pinene at 43.72%. The organoleptic test complies with SNI 3954:2014 with a refractive index of 1.467 - 1.469, specific gravity of 1.13 - 1.14 g/ml and solubility in alcohol of 1:3. Physical evaluation of the peel off gel mask formulation shows that it is organoleptic and good homogeneity, spreadability 5.5 - 6.4 cm, pH of 7.5, good drying time between 15 - 30 minutes, liking/hedonic in the range of 4 (like), and applying in to the face with good results.
