Protesa maksilofasial dengan Hollow Bulb sebagai alat rehabilitasi pasca Hemimaxillectomy

Pasien pasca hemimaxillectomy menimbulkan adanya defect yang menyebabkan gangguan fungsi pengunyahan, penelanan,bicara dan estetika. Setelah dilakukan hemimaxillectomy, pasien perlu memakai protesa maksilofasial pasca bedah, protesa maksilofasial interim dan protesa maksilofasial definitif. Protesa maksilofasial definitif merupakan proesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb. Tujuan laporan kasus ini adalah mengetahui protesa maksilofasial dengan Hollow Bulb dapat menambah kejelasan suara pada alat rehabilitasi pasca hemimaxillectomy Dilaporkan kasus pemakaian protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb. Dua tahun yang lalu, pasien pernah menderita myxoma dan telah dilakukan operasi hemimaxillectomy dengan rehabilitasi menggunakan protesa maksilofasial tanpa hollow bulb. Pasien dibuatkan protesa yang baru karena suara terdengar sengau dan bicara kurang jelas. Protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb dibuat dari bahan resin akrilik dengan metode two piece hollow bulb. Kontrol dilakukan satu minggu dan tiga bulan setelah insersi protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb. Hasil pemeriksaan dan evaluasi setelah satu minggu dan tiga bulan adalah suara pasien tidak terdengar sengau, bicara jelas, protesa maksilofasial berfungsi baik dan memuaskan. Kesimpulan laporan kasus ini adalah pembuatan protesa maksilofasial dengan Hollow Bulb sebagai alat rehabilitasi pasca hemimaxillectomy dapat menambah kejelasan suara, terutama pada pengucapan huruf l.t,d,j,g,k,c dan ng.

Patients who have had a hemimaxillectomy will get a defect, cause interference of masticatory, swallow, speech function and esthetic. After a hemimaxillectomy has been perfomed, patient need usage surgical obturator, interim obturator and definitive obturator. Definitive obturator was maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb. The purpose of this case report was to know maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb can be increased the clarity of voice on a rehabilitative post hemimaxillectomy. It was reported the usage of maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb. Two years ago, patient who has had myxoma and hemimaxillectomy had been done and rehabilitative by maxillofacial protheses without hollow bulb. Patient was made a new maxillofacial protheses because he had hypernasal speech and speech problem. Maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb was made from acrylic resin by two piece hollow bulb methods. The controls were done in one week and three months after insertion of maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb. Examination and evaluation result of one week and three months later were good condition in speech, good function and satisfaction. The conclusion of this case report is the usage of maxillofacial protheses by hollow bulb as a rehabilitative post hemimaxillectomy has good function for increasing of the clarity of voice, especially for speech of consonant sounds l.t,d,j,g,k,c and ng.
