Studi kasus ini bertujuan mengetahui cara melaksanakan perawatan penggantian Gigi Tiruan Lengkap (GTL) dengan gigi tiruan duplikasi sebagai pedoman dalam pembuatan GTL pengganti. Studi kasus dilakukan pada dua pasien lanjut usia yang telah lama memakai GTL dengan memuaskan. Pasien I laki-laki berumur 72 tahun, telah memakai GTL 7 tahun dengan masalah retensi dan stabilisasi gigi tiruan kurang serta traumatik oklusi. GTL pasien I diduplikasi dibuat gigi tiruan duplikasi pedoman, dimodifikasi terbatas dipakai sebagai pedoman pembuatan GTL cadangan. Pasien II laki-laki berumur 76 tahun, telah memakai GTL 12 tahun, dengan masalah retensi, stabilisasi, penampilan tidak baik dan oklusi tidak seimbang. Kemampuan adaptasi menurun , tidak dapat menerima ketidaksesuaian desain fitting surface dan permukaan oklusal. GTL pasien II diduplikasi dibuat gigi tiruan diagnostik, dilakukan modifikasi dignostik bertahap dan habituasi. Duplikasi gigi tiruan diagnostik dipakai sebagai pedoman pembuatan GTL definitif. Duplikasi GTL dengan teknik dua sendok cetak dengan bahan tanam silikon. Gigi tiruan diagnostik dengan bahan resin akrilik polimerisasi dingin warna gusi dan warna gigi. Gigi tiruan duplikasi pedoman dengan bahan resin akrilik polimerisasi dingin warna gusi dan malam. Hasil studi kasus : Gigi tiruan cadangan dan gigi tiruan definitif mempunyai retensi dan stabilisasi baik, oklusi seimbang. GTL cadangan langsung berhasil dipakai pasien I. GTL definitif mempunyai penampilan baik dan berhasil dipakai pasien ke II sebulan setelah insersi. Kesimpulan studi kasus ini: Gigi tiruan duplikasi sebagai pola desain yang dapat diterima pasien sebagai pedoman dalam pembuatan gigi tiruan pengganti. Gigi tiruan duplikasi dapat dengan modifikasi terbatas atau modifikasi diagnostik bertahap.

The purpose of the cases study was to know the method of treatment in replacement of complete dentures with the duplicate denture as reference in replacement of complete dentures. The cases study was to the two elderly patients who have satisfactorily wearing complete dentures for long time. The first patient, a 72th years man, has been wearing the complete dentures for about 7 years long. He has problems i.e less retention, unstable and traumatic occlusion.. The complete dentures of the first patient were duplicated as reference duplicate dentures. Then were made limited modification as references for fabrication spare complete dentures. The second patient, a 77th years man, wearing complete dentures for about 12 years long, and his problems namely on less retention, unstable, unsatisfied appearance, and imbalance of occlusion. Moreover, there has been descending of adaptability, rejecting of unsuitable design fitting surface as well as the occlusal surface. The complete dentures of the second patient were duplicated as diagnostic dentures, followed by gradual diagnostic modification and habituation periode. These duplicated diagnostic dentures were used as references of making definitive complete dentures. Duplication of complete dentures by using stock impression trays technique with silicone materials invesment. The diagnostic made of gingiva and tooth colored cold cured acrylic resin materials. The reference duplicated denture were made of gingiva colored cold cured , while the teeth were wax. The result of these cases study mentioned that the spare complete dentures and the definitive complete dentures have good retentions , stabilizations and balance of occlusion . The spare complete dentures were directly conform used by the first patient. While the definitive complete dentures have better appereance and conformably used by the second patient in the following one month after insertion. In conclusion these cases study: the duplicate dentures as design patterns were accepted the patients as references in replacement of dentures fabrication. The duplicated dentures can be able to limit modified or gradual diagnostic modification.
