Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja induk donor sapi potong yang dipelihara di Balai Embrio Ternak Cipelang Bogor ditinjau dari aspek manajemen dan produksi embrio. Sebanyak 26 ekor sapi digunakan untuk penelitian ini, terdiri dari 12 ekor induk sapi Simmental dan 14 induk sapi Limousin berasal dari impor Australia dan hasil BET. Data diperoleh dari catatan tahun 2007 sampai 2008 meliputi jumlah induk, bangsa induk, umur induk, dan produksi embrio. Data manajemen yang diamati adalah pemeliharaan sehari-hari dan data pakan yang meliputi bahan pakan yang digunakan, cara pemberian pakan, konsumsi pakan, dan frekuensi pemberian pakan. Data produksi embrio dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode one way anova, sedangkan data produksi embrio sapi impor dan sapi hasil di BET Cipelang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Rata-rata umur sapi impor Simmental dan Limousin berturutturut adalah 9,2±0,45 tahun dan 4,17±3,63 tahun, sedangkan umur sapi hasil BET Simmental dan Limousin berturut-turut adalah 4,25±2,05 tahun dan 5±1,41 tahun. Rata-rata bobot badan sapi impor sapi Simmental dan Limousin berturut-turut adalah 811,8±10,66 kg dan 803,7±12,54 kg, sedangkan sapi hasil BET Simmental dan Limousin berturut-turut adalah 807,5±7,54 kg dan 806±9,90 kg. Manajemen pemeliharaan yang dilakukan serta pakan yang diberikan untuk masing-masing sapi baik Simmental maupun Limousin sama. Rata-rata produksi embrio sapi Simmental dan Limousin berturut-turut 26±24 embrio dan 19±20 embrio. Produksi embrio per satu kali koleksi per ekor sapi Simmental dan Limousin berturut-turut 10±6 embrio dan 9±6 embrio. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan manajemen dan produksi embrio antara sapi Simmental dengan sapi Limousin. PERFORMANCE OF SIMMENTAL AND LIMOUSIN DONOR COWS AT EMBRYO TRANSFER CENTRE CIPELANG BOGOR BASED ON MANAGEMENT ASPECT AND EMBRYO PRODUCTION Astri Setyawati 02/155485/PT/04433 ABSTRACT This research was conducted to observe the performance of donor beef cows raised in Embryo Transfer Centre (ETC) Cipelang Bogor based on management aspect and embryo production. Twenty six cows used in this research, consist of 12 Simmental and 14 Limousin cows; part of them were imported from Australia and others were the product of Embryo Transfer Center itself. Data were collected from the record since 2007 to 2008 consist of the number of the cows, breed, aged, and the production of embryos. Others data collecting were daily management and feeding. Embryo production data were analyzed using one way ANOVA method, whereas embryo production of imported and local cows production of Embryo Transfer Center at Cipelang were analyzed descriptively. The average age of Simmental and Limousin cows from imported were 9.2 ± 0.45 year old and 4.17 ± 3.63 year old, while from local production were 4.25 ± 2.05 year old and 5 ± 1.41 year old, respectively. The average body weight of Simmental and Limousin imported cows were 811.8 ± 10.66 kg and 803.7 ± 12.54 kg, while local BET production were 807.5 ± 7, 54 kg and 806 ± 9.90 kg. Management conducted for each well Simmental cows and Limousin together. The average embryo production of Simmental and Limousin cows were 26 ± 24 and 19 ± 20 embryos. Production of embryos per collection of Simmental and Limousin cows were 10 ± 6 and 9 ± 6 embryos. Based on the results it can be concluded that there is no performance diffenrent between Simmental and Limousin cows according to management aspect and embryo production.
