Kajian perancangan laboratorium terhadap kinerja campuran SMA yang menggunakan bahan agregat dari sungai Kampung Harapan Kabupaten Jayapura Provinsi Papua

Penggunaan material lokal dari Sungai Kampung Harapan Kabupaten Jayapura Provinsi Papua, perlu dikaji kelayakannya pada campuran Split Mastic Asphalt (SMA), sebagai bahan susun lapis perkerasan jalan. Split Mastic Asphalt (SMA) adalah campuran aspal-agregat bergradasi terbuka yang terdiri atas agregat kasar tinggi (70-80%), mastik aspal dan bahan tambah berupa serat selulosa, bahan tambah tersebut digunakan untuk stabilisasi aspal. Split Mastic Asphalt menggunakan agregat berukuran butiran 11 mm, dan pada umumnya dipakai dalam pembuatan lapis aus (wearing course) untuk jalan baru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dua tahap, dengan tiga gradasi campuran, gradasi I, gradasi II dan gradasi III. Tahap I untuk mencari kadar aspal optimum dengan metode Marshall masing-masing gradasi dibuat benda uji dengan variasi kadar aspal 6% - 8% dengan interval 0,5% dengan aspal AC 60/70, serat selulosa menggunakan Roadcel-50 sebesar 0,3%. Setelah didapat kadar aspal optimum, pada tahap II dibuat benda uji masing-masing gradasi untuk pengujian perendaman 0,5 jam, 24 jam dan 48 jam, pengujian Cantabro dan pengujian Draindown. Dengan metode Marshall dilakukan pengujian terhadap benda uji perendaman 0,5 jam, 24 jam dan 48 jam, benda uji Cantabro dan benda uji Draindown. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada campuran SMA untuk masingmasing gradasi, kadar aspal optimumnya diperoleh gradasi I, gradasi II dan gradasi III sebesar 7,80%, 6,50% dan 6,60% terhadap total campuran. Dengan kadar aspal optimum, masing-masing gradasi agregat pada perendaman 0,5 jam gradasi I, gradasi II dan gradasi III diperoleh nilai stabilitas sebesar 927,78 kg, 921,00 kg dan 756,65 kg, nilai flow sebesar 3,70 mm, 3,80mm dan 3,50mm. Untuk perendaman 24 jam gradasi I, gradasi II dan gradasi III diperoleh nilai stabilitas sebesar 890,92 kg, 763,09 kg dan 659,54 kg, nilai flow sebesar 4,07 mm, 3,80mm dan 4,43mm. Untuk perendaman 48 jam gradasi I, gradasi II dan gradasi III diperoleh nilai stabilitas sebesar 814,27 kg, 680,78 kg dan 606,34 kg, nilai flow sebesar 4,23 mm, 4,00mm dan 4,83mm. Kehilangan berat pada pengujian Cantabro setelah 300 putaran pada gradasi I, II dan III sebesar 2,05%, 3,63% dan 3,52%. Untuk pengujian Draindown gradasi I, II dan III sebesar 0,031%, 0,028% dan 0,028%.

The use of local materials, which are taken from the River Kampung Harapan in Jayapura Regency of Papua Province, need to have feasibility study of Split Mastic Asphalt (SMA), the pavement layer material. The Split Mastic Asphalt (SMA), is a asphalt-aggregate mix of open graded hot asphalt consisting of highly coarse aggregate (70-80%), mastic asphalt and additional material of cellulose fiber used as an asphalt stabilizer. Split Mastic Asphalt mixture containing 11 mm maximum aggregate size, and generally for application of wearing course of new pavement. This research was carried out in two stages with three mixing gradations, namely aggregate gradation I, II, and III. In stage I, to identify the optimum asphalt degree, it employed the Marshall method, utilizing specimens with 6%-8% asphalt content variations of 0.5% in interval with AC 60/70 asphalt type, cellulose fiber applying Roadcel-50 of 0.3%. After determining the optimum asphalt content, some specimens for each aggregate gradation was made in stage II for 0.5, 24, and 48 hours immersion tests, respectively, Cantabro test, and Draindown test. Using the Marshall method, the tests of the specimens under 0.5, 24, and 48 hours immersion, Cantabro and Draindown tests were carried out. The results showed that the SMA mix of each grade generated optimum asphalt content of aggregate gradation I, II, and III of 7.8-percentage, 6.50%, and 6.60% of the total mixture, respectively. With optimum asphalt degree, the aggregate grades of the 0.5-hour immersion of grades I, II, and III generated stability values of 927.78 kg, 921.00 kg, and 756.65 kg, with flow values of 3.70 mm, 3.80mm, and 3.50 mm, respectively. Of those of 24-hour immersion of grades I, II, and III the stability values were 890.92 kg, 763.09 kg, and 659.54 kg, with flow values of 4.07 mm, 3.80 mm, and 4.43 mm, respectively. Of those of the 48-hour immersion of grades II, III, the stability rates and I were 814.27 kg, 680.78 kg, and 606.34 kg with flow values of 4.23 mm, 4.00 mm, and 4.83 mm, correspondingly. The weight loss on the Cantabro test after 300 cycles of grades I, II, and III were 2.05%, 3.63%, and 3.52%. Results from the Draindown test of grades I, II, and III were 0.031%, 0.028%, and 0.028%.
