Prediksi Ketidaksesuaian Lahan Terbangun untuk Pengawasan Pemanfaatan Ruang Berbasis Cellular Automata di Kawasan Satuan Ruang Strategis (SRS) Pantai Selatan Kabupaten Gunungkidul

South Coast (Pansela) of Gunungkidul Regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is one of the strategic area, consists of nine sub-districts with a total area of 37,931.739 hectares. The development of the Southern Cross Road (JJLS) is one of the drivers of economic growth in the southern corridor, as it will boost tourism development by increasing accessibility. The tourism potential, supported by road infrastructure, will increase the potential for changes in built-up land cover. The potential for built-up land changes can have positive and negative impacts; one way to anticipate this is through regular monitoring.
The study was conducted using a spatiotemporal-based method with a quantitative approach. The Cellular Automata-Markov Chain method in the Terrset software was used to predict built-up land cover for the years 2033-2043, derived from the land cover matrix of 2003 and 2013. The central Pansela region, particularly Kapanewon Saptosari and Kapanewon Tanjungsari, experienced the highest level of inconsistency. This is due to their larger land area compared to other Pansela regions, relatively flat geographical conditions, and closer proximity to Wonosari City. The built-up land prediction for 2043 indicates an expansion of built-up areas, particularly in protected zones such as coastal buffer zones, spring buffer zones, lake buffer zones, and production forests.
A land cover prediction model can be used to understand potential future changes by considering the most influential factors and variables. By identifying the key drivers of change, monitoring efforts can be more effective and efficient, allowing for a more focused approach in observing a specific area and integrate it with land use control instruments.
