Evaluation of Academic curiculum and learning process in Master of Management Gadjah Mada University to increase alumni's performance

Pertama, kualitas dari kurikulum akademis (mata kuliah wajib, pilihan, dan penjurusan) dan proses pembelajaran (dosen pengajar, mahasiswa, metode pengajaran, dan mata kuliah yang ditawarkan) di MMUGM. Variabel ini diukur untuk mengetahui apakah kurikulum akademis dan proses pembelajaran di MMUGM sudah sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan oleh Alumni di dunia kerja. Kedua, mengukur kinerja (pengetahuan, keahlian, dan kemampuan) Alumni MMUGM. Penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling, yaitu metodologi sampling berdasarkan beberapa kategori. Pengumpulan data menggunakan beberapa teknik, yaitu: wawancara dengan beberapa Alumni, off line dan on line literature, dan kuesioner. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan analisis statistic yang dilakukan, semua mata kuliah (mata kuliah wajib, pilihan, dan penjurusan) yang ada di MMUGM telah mendukung kinerja Alumni di dunia kerja dan mata kuliah tersebut harus lebih ditekankan pada skala pengetahuan konsepsual dan kemampuan teknisnya. Berdasarkan pada table frekuensi dari persepsi Alumni terhadap kurikulum akademis dan proses pembelajaran di dalam analisis deskriptif, prosentase terbesar ada di kategori very good. Dengan demikian, dapat kita katakan bahwa kualitas dari kurikulum akademis dan proses pembelajaran di MMUGM sudah sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan Alumni di dunia kerja. Berdasarkan table frekuensi dari persepsi pengguna (user) terhadap kualitas Alumni MMUGM di dalam analisis deskriptif, prosentase terbesar ada di category excellent dan very good. Dari perhitungan nilai mean diperoleh nilai lebih besar dari 3 (ideal nilai mean). Dengan demikian, dapat kita katakan bahwa kualitas Alumni MMUGM sudah memenuhi harapan pengguna atau user dan mempunyai kemampuan yang sudah tidak diragukan lagi untuk persaingan di dunia kerja. Selain analisis statistik, dari perntanyaan terbuka yang disediakan di bagian akhir kuesioner, terdapat beberapa pernyataan dan kritik yang diberikan oleh Alumni dan User atau pengguna. Pernyataan dan kritik tersebut dapat memotivasi alumni untuk tampil lebih baik dan dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu acuan bagi MMUGM dalam mengevaluasi kurikulum akademis dan proses pembelajaran untuk guna mempersiapkan Alumni dengan kualitas yang lebih baik di masa depan.
This research is conducted to evaluate two variables. First is the quality (core, compulsory and specialization courses) of the academic curriculum and learning process (lectures, students, teaching method, and courses) in MMGMU. This variable is measured to identify whether academic curriculum and learning process in MMGMU has already meet the alumni’s expectation in the working environment. Second is measuring the job performance (knowledge, skill, and ability) of the Master of Management, Gadjah Mada University Alumni. This study using purposive sampling method, which is sampling method based on several categories. Data collected using several techniques, which are: interview with several Alumni, off line and on line literature, and questionnaire. This study shows that based on the statistical analysis, all courses (core courses, compulsory courses, and specialization courses) provided by MMGMU has giving support and benefits for alumni in the working field and it has to be more focused in conceptual knowledge and technical ability scale. Based on the frequency table of alumni perception toward academic curriculum and learning process in the descriptive analysis, the biggest percentage category is very good. Thus we can say that the quality of academic curriculum and learning process in Master of Management Gadjah Mada University has already met the alumni expectation in the work place. Based on the frequency table of recruiter perception toward Alumni’s Quality in the descriptive analysis, the biggest percentage category is excellent and very good. From the mean score calculation on each item, the entire mean score items are greater than 3 (ideal mean score). Thus, we can say that the quality of Master of Management Gadjah Mada University Alumni has already met the Recruiter expectation in the work place and ready for competitiveness. Beside those statistical analysis, from the open question provide in the last part of questionnaires, there are several opinion and critics given by Alumni and Recruiter. Those opinion and critics can motivate the alumni to perform better and can be used for Master of Management Gadjah Mada University in evaluating the academic curriculum and learning process to preparing better qualified alumni in the future.
