DAMPAK TIGER PROOF ENCLOSURE TERHADAP PERUBAHAN PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERKAIT KONFLIK MANUSIA-SATWA DI TAMAN NASIONAL BUKIT BARISAN SELATAN

Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan merupakan salah satu habitat dari harimau sumatera dan beruang madu. Keberadaan harimau sumatera dan beruang madu mulai mengganggu masyarakat dan cenderung menimbulkan konflik. TPE adalah salah satu bentuk mitigasi yang telah dilakukan dalam menanggapi konflik tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan TPE terhadap perubahan persepsi masyarakat terhadap konflik satwa liar di Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan dan mengetahui faktor pendukung perubahan persepsi tersebut.

Metode survei dan observasi yang menggunakan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara dan kuesioner. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan sampling jenuh atau sensus dengan menggunakan 31 individu yang merupakan masyarakat pelaku TPE. Analisis data perubahan persepsi masyarakat menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan didukung oleh skala likert dengan rumus jenjang skor. Untuk mengetahui faktor perubahan persepsi masyarakat, dilakukan pengamatan pola persepsi masyarakat sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan TPE dengan melihat dari ketiga aspek yaitu kebudayaan, ekologi, dan ekonomi sosial. Hasil penelitian setelah dilakukan penggunaan TPE, persepsi masyarakat mengalami perubahan dalam hasil perhitungan yaitu 11 individu termasuk dalam kategori positif dan 20 individu termasuk kategori netral. Tidak ditemukan masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi negatif seperti sebelum dilakukan penggunaan TPE.

Perubahan dalam persepsi masyarakat secara menyeluruh membutuhkan waktu dan pendekatan yang holistik, di mana informasi yang benar dan dampak positif dari kebijakan konservasi seperti penggunaan TPE dipahami secara lebih luas. Faktor pendukung perubahan persepsi masyarakat yang paling besar adalah aspek ekonomi dan sosial. Keberlanjutan ekonomi seperti keamanan harta benda dan berkurangnya rasa khawatir adalah hal paling utama bagi masyarakat. Jika TPE tidak membawa perubahan besar dalam aspek ekonomi atau sosial, masyarakat mungkin merasa bahwa tidak ada alasan untuk mengubah persepsi mereka. 

Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park is one of the habitats of Sumatran tigers and sun bears. The presence of Sumatran tigers and sun bears begins to disturb the community and tends to cause conflict. TPE is one form of mitigation that has been carried out in response to these conflicts. The purpose of this study, to determine the impact of the use of TPE on changes in people's perceptions of wildlife conflict in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park and to determine the supporting factors for changes in perception. 

Survey and observation methods using data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires. The data collection technique uses saturated sampling or census using 31 individuals who are TPE community actors. Data analysis of changes in community perceptions uses a qualitative approach and is supported by a Likert scale with a score level formula. To find out the factors of changes in community perceptions, observation of community perception patterns before and after the use of TPE was carried out by looking at the three aspects namely culture, ecology, and social economy. The results of the research after the use of TPE, community perceptions have changed in the calculation results, namely 11 individuals are included in the positive category and 20 individuals are included in the neutral category. No people were found who had negative perceptions as before the use of TPE.

A change in overall community perception takes time and a holistic approach, where correct information and the positive impacts of conservation policies such as the use of TPE are more widely understood. The biggest enablers of changes in community perceptions are economic and social aspects. Economic sustainability such as security of property and less worry is of utmost importance to the community. If TPE does not bring about major economic or social changes, people may feel that there is no reason to change their perceptions.
