Refleksi terhadap Prometheanisme Teknologi dalam Perspektif Eko-Marxisme Kohei Saito

Penelitian ini secara kritis mengkaji konsep Prometheanisme teknologi-kepercayaan terhadap teknologi sebagai solusi universal untuk masalah manusia-melalui lensa eko-Marxisme Kohei Saito, khususnya konsep keretakan metabolisme dan pergeseran metabolisme. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi interaksi antara teknologi, kapitalisme, dan dampak ekologis, dengan fokus pada epos Antroposen, yang mendominasi wacana perubahan iklim global saat ini.

Dengan menggunakan pendekatan refleksi filosofis, penelitian ini menganalisis Prometheanisme teknologi sebagai objek material dalam kerangka teori Eko-Marxisme Saito sebagai objek formal, memanfaatkan studi literatur dan teknik seperti interpretasi, analisis koherensi, heuristik, dan refleksi kritis.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Prometheanisme teknologi yang berkembang dalam kapitalisme memiliki tendensi untuk memperparah krisis ekologi melalui eksploitasi alam yang berkelanjutan. Teknologi  yang pada awalnya dianggap sebagai solusi untuk permasalahan manusia, justru menjadi instrumen kapitalisme untuk meraup keuntungan tanpa memperhatikan dampak lingkungan. Refleksi terhadap Prometheanisme teknologi melalui eko-Marxisme Kohei Saito menawarkan solusi melalui konsep komunisme degrowth, yang menekankan perlunya pengendalian ekonomi dan pengembangan jenis teknologi terbuka yang lebih berkelanjutan dan adil.

This research critically examines the concept of technological Prometheanism—belief in technology as a universal solution to human problems—through the lens of Kohei Saito's eco-Marxism, particularly the concepts of metabolic rift and metabolic shift. It explores the interplay between technology, capitalism, and ecological impact, focusing on the Anthropocene epoch, which dominates global climate change discourse.

Using a qualitative approach of philosophical reflection, the study analyzes technological Prometheanism as a material object within Saito's theoretical framework, utilizing literature studies and techniques such as interpretation, coherence analysis, heuristics, and critical reflection.

The findings reveal that under capitalism, technological Prometheanism exacerbates ecological crises by perpetuating nature's exploitation for profit. While technology is often seen as a remedy for human challenges, it becomes a tool of capitalist systems, disregarding environmental consequences. Eco-Marxist reflection on this issue highlights degrowth communism as a pathway to counter this trajectory, advocating for sustainable and equitable technological development. This approach stresses the importance of economic control and open technology systems that prioritize environmental and social justice, aiming to realign the metabolic relationship between humans and nature for a more sustainable future.
