In industrial systems, manually recording temperature data by operators poses risks, especially when measurements are conducted in extreme environments, such as high temperatures. Therefore, an automated tool is needed to measure and record temperature data more accurately and safely.
This research develops a data logger based on Arduino Mega to record temperature from an Autonics TK4L-B4R temperature controller using RS-485 communication and the Modbus RTU protocol. The recorded data, including time, date, temperature, and PV, are stored on a microSD card and sent to a server via a LAN network using the HTTP protocol. The data on the server are then stored in a database and displayed on the front-end for temperature monitoring.
The results of this research enhance operator safety in data recording, and the start-stop feature simplifies the process by reducing the risk of data loss or damage. The data stored on the microSD and server provide a backup in case of any issues.
