Pengaruh Penambahan Nanofiber Sisal (Agave sisalana) Konsentrasi 1?n 1,5% pada Daya Antibakteri Kalsium Hidroksida terhadap Bakteri Enterococcus faecalis

Calcium hydroxide is an intracanal medicament that works by creating an alkaline atmosphere that interferes with bacterial growth in the root canal. However, there are Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) bacteria that are resistant to the material. The incorporation of sisal nanofiber (Agave sisalana) into calcium hydroxide may influence the material's antibacterial efficacy. This study aims to ascertain the impact of sisal nanofiber supplementation at concentrations of 1% and 1.5% on the antibacterial potency of calcium hydroxide against E. faecalis bacteria.
The 30 samples were divided into three groups, designated as Group I (0% concentration), Group II (1% concentration), and Group III (1.5% concentration). Each group consisted of 10 samples. The antibacterial power test was conducted using the well diffusion method on Mueller Hinton Agar media inoculated with E. faecalis bacteria at a density of 1.5 × 10? CFU/ml. The samples were incubated at 37°C for 48 hours. The outcome was an inhibition zone, manifesting as a clear zone around the well, which was then measured using a sliding caliper.
The results of the ANOVA test indicate a p-value of 0.005 (p < 0>E. faecalis. The LSD test results demonstrated a statistically significant difference between Group III and Group II, as well as between Group III and Group I. However, no significant difference was observed between Group II and Group I. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the addition of sisal nanofiber at concentrations of the addition of 1% and 1.5% sisal nanofiber affects the antibacterial power of calcium hydroxide against E. faecalis bacteria. The antibacterial power of Ca(OH)2 added with 1.5% sisal nanofiber is greater than that of Ca(OH)2 added with 1% sisal nanofiber.
