Penghematan listrik merupakan strategi untuk mengatasi peningkatan  konsumsi listrik, yang bertujuan mengurangi risiko perubahan iklim global. Konsumsi listrik rumah tangga dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor berbeda di negara maju dan wilayah tropis. Penelitian ini fokus pada empat faktor: karakteristik bangunan, sosio demografi, perilaku penghuni rumah tangga, dan kepemilikan peralatan rumah tangga. Penelitian bertujuan menentukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumsi energi listrik dan mengevaluasi Intensitas IKE di desa Mutihan, Wirokerten, Banguntapan, Bantul. Penulis menggunakan dua tahap: survei kuesioner langsung dan survei kuesioner tidak langsung yang dilakukan pada Oktober hingga November terhadap 40 rumah di desa tersebut. Survei kuesioner dijawab dan dikonfirmasi langsung oleh responden penghuni rumah atau kepala rumah tangga untuk mengetahui informasi rumah dan peralatan rumah tangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peralatan rumah tangga merupakan variabel utama yang mempengaruhi karakteristik rumah dan konsumsi listrik, meskipun tidak signifikan. Peralatan seperti AC, lampu, dan TV paling berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi listrik. Faktor perilaku penghuni rumah menunjukkan pengaruh yang lebih signifikan dibandingkan faktor sosio demografi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi temuan untuk penghematan listrik di rumah tangga.

Energy saving is a strategy to address the increase in CO2 emissions and electricity consumption, aiming to reduce the risk of global climate change. Household electricity consumption is influenced by different factors in developed countries and tropical regions. This study focuses on four factors: building characteristics, socio-demographics, household behavior, and ownership of household appliances. The research aims to determine the factors affecting electricity consumption and evaluate the IKE Intensity in the village of Mutihan, Wirokerten, Banguntapan, Bantul. The author used two stages: direct questionnaire surveys and indirect questionnaire surveys conducted from October to November involving 40 houses in the village. The questionnaire surveys were answered and directly confirmed by household residents or heads of households to gather information about the house and household appliances. The research findings indicate that household appliances are the main variable affecting house characteristics and electricity consumption, although not significantly. Appliances such as air conditioners, lights, and TVs have the most impact on electricity consumption. Household behavior factors show a more significant influence compared to socio-demographic factors. This research is expected to provide findings for household electricity saving.
