Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi hasil terjemahan yang dilakukan oleh penerjemah berdasarkan pemilihan kata dan teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh penerjemah, untuk melihat apakah efek penggunaan teknik penerjemahan tersebut membuat tercapai atau tidaknya kesepadanan pragmatik. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa takarir yang terdapat di dalam laman Disney + Hotstar. Data penelitian ini berupa humor tabu yang terdapat pada takarir serial televisi Family Guy. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif komparatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tujuh klasifikasi humor tabu pada 106 jumlah data, yaitu racial, ethnic, and minority humor, sacrilegious/blasphemous humor, dark humor, physical appearance humor, multi-type humor, sexual humor, dan gross-out/sick humor, dengan jumlah humor tabu paling tinggi dimiliki oleh racial, ethnic, and minority humor dengan pesentase 50%. Dari 18 teknik penerjemahan yang di jabarkan oleh Molina dan Albir, penelitian ini menemukan penerjemah hanya menggunakan tujuh teknik penerjemahan, dan teknik penerjemahan yang paling banyak digunakan adalah teknik kompresi linguistik dengan persentase 49.05%. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan persamaan kebudayaan teks sumber dan teks sasaran, jika menyangkut humor tabu, sehingga pembaca teks sasaran memiliki latar belakang pengetahuan yang cukup untuk mengerti humor tabu tersebut, namun ditemukan beberapa penyebab yang membuat humor tabu tersebut menjadi tidak sepadan bagi pembaca, seperti kesalahan penerjemah dalam memilih teknik penerjemahan, kekeliruan penerjemah, tidak terdapat padanan dalam bahasa sasaran untuk menerjemahkan bahasa sumber, dan penghalusan yang dilakukan oleh penerjemah.
This study aims to evaluate the translation results carried out by the translator based on the choice of words and translation techniques used by the translator, to see whether the effect of using these translation techniques achieve pragmatic equivalence or not. The data source in this research is the captions on the Disney + Hotstar webpage. The data for this research is in the form of taboo humor found in the subtitles of the television series Family Guy. This research method uses a comparative descriptive method.
The research results show seven classifications of taboo humor in 106 of total data, namely racial, ethnic, and minority humor, sacrilegious/blasphemous humor, dark humor, physical appearance humor, multi-type humor, sexual humor, and gross-out/sick humor, with The highest amount of taboo humor belongs to racial, ethnic, and minority humor with a percentage of 50%. Of the 18 translation techniques described by Molina and Albir, this research found that translators only used seven translation techniques, and the most used translation technique was the linguistic compression technique with a percentage of 49.05%. The results of the research also show similarities between culture in the source text and the target text, when it comes to taboo humor, causing the readers of the target text have sufficient background knowledge to understand the taboo humor, but several causes are found that make the taboo humor inappropriate for the reader, such as translator mistake in choosing translation techniques, translation errors, no equivalent expression in the target language to translate the source language, and euphemisms made by the translator.
