Various software has been developed to perform bridge structure analysis, such as Midas Civil, CSI Bridge, and SAP2000. However, these software solutions require complex and repetitive input, making them inefficient in terms of time. Therefore, this study aims to develop a program that can automatically create model structures, apply loading, and perform structural analysis of steel truss bridges with simpler input and in a shorter amount of time.
The program is named the Civil Engineering Macro Application – Warren Truss Bridge (CEMAPP-WTB). This program integrates Microsoft Excel with SAP2000 using the Open Application Programming Interface (OAPI) and is programmed in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This program is capable of analyzing steel truss bridge structures under four limit states: constructability, service, fatigue, and ultimate limit state. The loading in this program refers to SNI 1725:2016, while capacity calculations are based on the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications 9th Edition (2020) and SNI 1729:2020. Additionally, the program can generate a simplified report regarding the analysis results.
The program has undergone validation to assess the accuracy of its analysis. Validation was conducted using sample calculations from the SE Binamarga No. 06/SE/Db/2021, where the difference in analysis results was less than 10%. Furthermore, the program has been used to verify RSU design reports, where axial forces in the truss showed a deviation of less than 5%, although discrepancies in truss moments were observed due to differences in member release assumptions. Since truss members predominantly carry axial forces, the moment differences were deemed negligible due to variations in structural modeling and connection design assumptions. The deviations of less than 10% indicate that the program is sufficiently valid.
