SIMULASI PENGEMBANGAN POPULASI KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWA PADA KECAMATAN DENGAN TINGKAT POPULASI SEDANG DI KABUPATEN KULON PROGO

Kambing Peranakan Etawa (PE) adalah komoditas ternak unggulan dari Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui estimasi jumlah perkembangan populasi kambing PE yang dihasilkan di Kecamatan populasi sedang Kabupaten Kulon Progo dan mengestimasi pendapatan bruto hingga 5 Tahun mendatang. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2023 hingga Maret 2024. Penelitian dilakukan di enam kecamatan yaitu Kecamatan Kalibawang, Nanggulan, Pengasih, Lendah, Temon, dan Galur. Materi dalam penelitian ini yaitu data jumlah populasi ternak dan peternak. Data yang diambil meliputi data primer dan sekunder. Metode pengambilan data primer menggunakan purposive sampling dengan kriteria peternak memiliki minimal pengalaman beternak yaitu tiga tahun. Data sekunder berupa populasi di akhir tahun 2022 diambil dari Dinas Pertanian dan Pangan Kulon Progo yang dipakai sebagai dasar simulasi pengembangan populasi dan parameter perbibitan lima tahun kedepan. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi, populasi kambing PE mengalami peningkatan dengan persentase kenaikan populasi ternak dari Tahun 2023 hingga 2027 yaitu sebesar 125%. Hasil perhitungan natural increase (NI) rata-rata lima tahun yaitu sebesar 43,9%. Nilai net replacement rate (NRR) kambing jantan didapatkan sebesar 629,71%, sedangkan kambing betina sebesar 281,01%. Total output yang didapatkan selama 5 tahun yaitu 14.374 ekor. Pendapatan Bruto pada wilayah populasi sedang selama lima tahun yaitu sebesar Rp. 94.173.998.630. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, apabila dilakukan manajemen pemeliharaan yang tepat akan terjadi peningkatan dan keseimbangan populasi selama 5 tahun mendatang. Hasil estimasi ini akan digunakan dinas setempat untuk menentukan kebijakan pengembangan program peternakan di wilayah populasi sedang Kabupaten Kulon Progo.

Peranakan Etawa (PE) goats are the superior livestock commodity of Kulon Progo Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the estimated number of PE goat population development produced in the medium population district of Kulon Progo Regency and estimate gross income for the next 5 years. This study was conducted from December 2023 to March 2024. This study was conducted in six sub-districts, namely Kalibawang, Nanggulan, Pengasih, Lendah, Temon, and Galur. The material in this study is data on the number of livestock populations and farmers. The data taken were primary and secondary data. The primary data collection method used purposive sampling with the criteria that breeders have a minimum of three years of breeding experience. Secondary data in the form of population at the end of 2022 were taken from the Kulon Progo Agriculture and Food Service Office which were used as the basis for simulating population development and breeding parameters for the next five years. Based on the simulation results, the PE goat population increased with a percentage increase in livestock population from 2023 to 2027 of 125%. The five-year average natural increase (NI) calculation result was 43.9%. The net replacement rate (NRR) value of male goats was obtained at 629.71%, while female goats amounted to 281.01%. The total output obtained for 5 years was 14,374 goats. Gross income in the medium population area for five years amounted to Rp. 94,173,998,630. Based on these results, if proper maintenance management is carried out, there will be an increase and balance of the population over the next 5 years. The results of this estimation will be used by local agencies to determine policies for developing livestock programs in the medium population area of Kulon Progo Regency.
