Analisis Pengaruh Desain Control Button Dento-J sebagai Media Pembelajaran Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi terhadap User Performance dan User Preference

yang digunakan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi berupa dental phantom. Seiring
dengan perubahan sistem dan metode pembelajaran, dental phantom juga
dituntut untuk berkembang menyesuaikan kebutuhan dan kepentingan medis sebagai
media pelatihan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi. Salah satu pengembangan teknologi dental
phantom telah dilakukan oleh tim peneliti UGM yaitu Dento-J sebagai produk
inovasi media pembelajaran anestesi lokal. Namun, pada evaluasi usabilitas yang
telah dilakukan teridentifikasi bahwa masih terdapat pengguna yang kesulitan
dalam mengidentifikasi control button dimana apabila hal tersebut
diabaikan akan menghambat proses pembelajaran. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut
maka perlu desain control button baik ukuran, posisi, kombinasi warna
maupun label tombol dengan performa dan preferensi pengguna dento-J. Dengan
demikian, penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh desain control
button terhadap user performance dan user preference.
Pada penelitian ini
melibatkan 34 responden mahasiswa kedokteran gigi, Adapun, elemen desain yang
diteliti pada penelitian ini meliputi tiga jenis ukuran (12 mm, 16 mm, dan 25
mm), tiga jenis posisi (samping kiri, samping kanan dan belakang), dua jenis kombinasi
warna (single color dan multiple color) dan dua jenis label
(gambar dan teks). Masing-masing elemen tersebut diukur berdasarkan pengukuran performance
yang menggunakan parameter task completion time dan accuracy
rate. Selain itu, pengukuran juga dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner untuk
mengetahui user preference mahasiswa kedokteran gigi. Penelitian ini
menggunakan uji four-way repeated measured ANOVA untuk menganalisis
performa, sedangkan untuk analisis user preference dilakukan uji chi-square.
Hasil analisis menyatakan
bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan jenis ukuran, posisi, dan label terhadap user
performance. Selanjutnya, terdapat pengaruh signifikan pada interaksi
antara ukuran dan posisi, dan interaksi antara ukuran dan label terhadap task
completion time. Sementara, berdasarkan accuracy rate menyatakan
terdapat pengaruh signifikan pada interaksi antara ukuran dan warna dan
interaksi antara ukuran, warna dan label. Adapun, jenis warna control button
tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap task completion time dan
accuracy rate yang ditandai dengan p-value > 0,05.
Sementara, user preference terhadap desain control button dento-J
menyatakan bahwa pengguna memiliki preferensi ukuran tombol 16 mm, posisi di
samping kanan dengan warna multiple color dan label berupa gambar.
Dengan demikian, preferensi pada perancangan control button dento-J
tidak selalu selaras dengan performa pengguna.
The main learning media
used by dental students is dental phantom. Along with changes in learning
systems and methods, dental phantoms are also required to develop to adjust to
medical needs and interests as a training medium for dental students. One of the
developments in dental phantom technology has been carried out by the UGM
research team, namely Dento-J as an innovative product of local anesthesia
learning media. However, the usability evaluation that has been carried out
identified that there are still users who have difficulty in identifying the
control button where if this is ignored it will hinder the learning process. To
overcome this, it is necessary to design the control button, both in terms of
size, position, color combination and button label with the performance and
preferences of dento-J users. Thus, the study aims to determine the effect of
control button design on user performance and user preference.
This study involved 34
dental student respondents. The design elements studied in this study include
three types of sizes (12 mm, 16 mm, and 25 mm), three types of positions (left
side, right side and back), two types of color combinations (single color and
multiple color) and two types of labels (images and text). Each of these
elements is measured based on performance measurements using task completion
time and accuracy rate parameters. In addition, measurements were also carried
out using a questionnaire to determine the user preferences of dental students.
This study used a four-way repeated measured ANOVA test to analyze performance,
while a chi-square test was used to analyze user preferences.
The results of the analysis stated that there was a significant effect of the type of size, position, and label on user performance. Furthermore, there was a significant effect on the interaction between size and position, and the interaction between size and label on task completion time. Meanwhile, based on the accuracy rate, it stated that there was a significant effect on the interaction between size and color and the interaction between size, color and label. Meanwhile, the type of control button color did not have a significant effect on task completion time and accuracy rate as indicated by a p-value> 0.05. Meanwhile, user preference for the design of the dento-J control button stated that users preferred a button size of 16 mm, position on the right side with multiple colors and labels in the form of images. Thus, preferences in the design of the dento-J control button are not always in line with user performance.
