Staphylococcus
sp. merupakan bakteri patogen bagi manusia dan hewan. Bakteri Staphylococcus
aureus (S. aureus) menjadi spesies yang paling virulen dan sering mengontaminasi
daging ayam dan dapat menyebabkan keracunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mendeteksi keberadaan Staphylococcus sp. dan S. aureus melalui metode
uji mikrobiologi dan PCR pada sampel daging ayam yang dijual di sepuluh pasar Kabupaten
Klaten, Jawa Tengah. Sampel ditimbang sebanyak 5 g dan dibuat suspensi daging
ayam 10%, kemudian ditanam pada media MSA. Hasil dari analisis PCR menunjukkan bahwa
9 (40,9%) sampel positif Staphylococcus sp. dan 3 (13,63%) diantaranya
positif S. aureus. Kesimpulannya, terdapat kontaminasi bakteri Staphylococcus
sp. dan S. aureus pada daging ayam yang dijual di sepuluh pasar di wilayah
Kabupaten Klaten.
Staphylococcus
sp. is a pathogenic bacterium for humans and animals. Staphylococcus aureus
(S. aureus) is the most virulent species and often contaminates chicken
meat and can cause poisoning. This study aims to detect the presence of Staphylococcus
sp. and S. aureus through microbiological and PCR test methods in
chicken meat samples sold in ten markets located in Klaten Regency area,
Central Java. Samples were weighed as much as 5 g and made into a 10% chicken
meat suspension, then cultured on MSA media. The results of the PCR analysis
showed that 9 (40.9%) samples were positive for Staphylococcus sp. and 3
(13.63%) of them were positive for S. aureus. In conclusion, there was contamination
of Staphylococcus sp. and S. aureus bacteria in chicken meat sold
in ten markets in Klaten Regency area.
