PREVALENSI DAN FAKTOR RISIKO SKABIES PADA KUCING DI KIT KAT LITE PETSHOP AND PETCARE PERIODE NOVEMBER 2022 - NOVEMBER 2023

Kucing merupakan hewan kesayangan yang digemari dan dipelihara banyak orang. Kucing memiliki jumlah populasi yang tinggi, dengan penyakit yang beragam. Penyakit kulit menjadi salah satu yang paling banyak menyerang kucing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan faktor risiko skabies pada kucing di Kit Kat Lite Petshop and Petcare. Penyakit skabies disebabkan oleh tungau Sarcoptes. Metode kerokan kulit (skin scraping) digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tungau. Sampel kerokan kulit diamati di bawah mikroskop untuk mengidentifikasi jenis ektoparasit tungau. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh persentase prevalensi skabies pada kucing periode November 2022 – November 2023 sebesar 1,8%. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara curah hujan dengan jumlah kejadian infestasi skabies. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kucing berumur ? 1 tahun lebih banyak terinfestasi skabies (78%) dibandingkan kucing berumur > 1 tahun (22%) dan berdasarkan jenis kelamin, infestasi skabies pada kucing jantan lebih tinggi (70%) dibandingkan kucing betina (30%). Analisis faktor risiko data statistik non-parametrik (chi-square) dilakukan dengan SPSS Statistics 24. Faktor risiko yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap infestasi skabies adalah faktor umur (P < 0> 1 tahun. Hasil pemeriksaan dari sampel kerokan kulit, jenis tungau yang ditemukan yaitu Notoedres cati dan Sarcoptes scabiei.

Cats have a high population and various diseases. Skin diseases are among the most common diseases affecting cats. This study aims to determine the prevalence and risk factors of scabies in cats at Kit Kat Lite Petshop and Petcare. Scabies is caused by Sarcoptes mites. The skin scraping method was used to identify mites. Skin scraping samples were observed under a microscope to identify the type of ectoparasite mite. Based on the research results, the prevalence percentage of scabies in cats over the one-year period of November 2022 - November 2023 was 1.8%. There was no relationship between rainfall and the number of scabies infestation incidents. The analysis showed that cats aged ? 1 year were more frequently infested with scabies (78 %) compared to cats aged > 1 year (22%), and based on gender, the infestation rate of scabies in male cats was higher (70%) compared to female cats (30%). Non-parametric statistical risk factor analysis (chi-square) was conducted using SPSS Statistics 24. The risk factor that significantly influenced scabies infestation was age (P < 0> 1 year. The types of mites found in the skin scraping samples were Notoedres cati and Sarcoptes scabiei.
