ANALISIS EFEK KEPARAHAN PANDEMI COVID-19 TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN UANG ELEKTRONIK DI INDONESIA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh keparahan pandemi covid-19 terhadap penggunaan uang elektronik di Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan data panel bulanan. Hasil estimasi menggunakan metode first difference Generalized Method of Moment (FD GMM) mengindikasikan bahwa pandemi covid-19 yang diproksi dengan jumlah positif kasus covid-19 berpengaruh negatif terhadap penggunaan uang elektronik di Indonesia. Hasil estimasi menunjukkan bahwa penurunan konsumsi sebagai efek dari pembatasan pergerakan manusia oleh pemerintah untuk mencegah penyebaran virus COVID-19. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan outflow dari Bank Indonesia sebagai proksi dari money supply yang tidak tersedia di tingkat provinsi. Selain itu, penelitian ini memasukkan Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) yang merupakan metode standarisasi pembayaran inovatif dengan menggunakan teknologi QR Code yang dikembangkan Bank Indonesia.

This study seeks to examine the effect of the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic on the electronic money use in Indonesia, employing dynamic panel data analysis. The estimation results utilizing the first difference Generalized Method of Moment (FD GMM) approach indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic, represented by the number of positive COVID-19 cases, negatively affect electronic money transactions in Indonesia. The estimation results suggest that the reduction in consumption is a direct effect of the restricted movement of the people caused by government regulations aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The novelty of this research lies in the use of fiat currency issued by the central bank of Indonesia (Bank Indonesia) as the proxy for money supply, which is not available at the provincial level. Additionally, the research includes the utilization of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), which is an innovative payment standardization method using QR Code technology from Bank Indonesia.
