SEBARAN POPULASI DAN ESTIMASI NATURAL INCREASE SAPI POTONG DI KECAMATAN TEMON KABUPATEN KULON PROGO YOGYAKARTA Rama Andhika Saputra 05/186703/PT/04989 INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertambahan populasi sapi potong secara alami (Natural Increase) serta persebarannya di Kecamatan Temon Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2009 sampai Februari 2010, mencakup 15 desa dengan 1547 responden. Metode pengumpulan data primer yaitu menggunakan sensus. Variabel yang diamati meliputi identitas responden, kepemilikan ternak, struktur populasi, performans reproduksi ternak, mutasi dan Natural Increase. Data hasil penelitian ditabulasi dengan menggunakan program komputer Microsoft excel kemudian dianalisis untuk menghitung rata-rata dan standar deviasi seluruh desa dalam satu Kecamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerjaan utama responden adalah bertani (84,41%) dengan tujuan pemeliharaan terbesar yaitu sebagai keturunan (93,17%). Jumlah populasi ternak sapi potong sebesar 2467 ekor (1975,98 UT), yang terdiri dari sapi PO 15,32%, SIMPO 34,58% dan LIMPO 50,1%. Besarnya angka kematian adalah 1,29%. Sebaran populasi sapi PO, SIMPO, LIMPO ada pada tiap desanya. Jumlah sapi PO paling tinggi terdapat pada desa Kulur dengan jumlah 47,45 UT. Jumlah sapi SIMPO paling tinggi terdapat pada desa Glagah dengan jumlah 119,05 UT. Jumlah sapi LIMPO paling tinggi terdapat pada desa Palihan dengan jumlah 132,8 UT. Nilai natural increase sapi potong yang diperoleh di Kecamatan Temon sebesar 32,19%. (PO: 20,90% SIMPO: 35,99% LIMP0:34,55%). POPULATION DISTRIBUTION AND CATTLE NATURAL INCREASE ESTIMATION IN TEMON SUBDISTRICT OF KULONPROGO REGENCY YOGYAKARTA Rama Andhika Saputra 05/186703/PT/04989 ABSTRACT This research was conducted to determine the population growth of beef cattle naturally (Natural Increase) and the distribution in Temon Subdistrict in Kulon Progo Regency. The research was implemented in August 2009 to February 2010, covering 15 villages with 1547 respondents. The method of primary data collection is census. Observed variables include respondents' identities, ownership of livestock, population structure, reproductive performance of cattle, mutation and Natural Increase. The data were tabulated using Microsoft Excel computer program then analyzed to calculate the average and standard deviation of all villages in the sub district. The results showed that the respondents’ main job is farming (84.41%) with the biggest intention is as maintenance of descendant (93.17%). Number of cattle population of 2467 individuals (1975.98 UT), which consists of 15.32% PO cows, 34.58% Simpo and 50.1% Limpo. The magnitude of the mortality rate was 1.29%. Distribution of cattle population PO, Simpo, and Limpo was obtained in each village. Highest number of cattle PO is in Kulur village by the number of 47,45 UT. Simpo highest number of cattle present in the Glagah village by the number of 119.05 UT. Limpo highest number of cattle present in the Palihan village by the number of 132.8 UT. The Natural Increase value of cattle in Temon Subdistrict was obtained for 32,19%. (PO: 20,90% SIMPO: 35,99% LIMP0:34,55%).
