2012 | Skripsi | S1 PETERNAKANPENGARUH MEDIA TANAM BERBAGAI MACAM POT ORGANIK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKTIVITAS JAGUNG MANIS (Zea mays saccharata) DI LAHAN PASIR NINA ROAINA (08/265648/PT/05455) INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam berbagai macam pot organik yang dibuat dari pupuk kompos kotoran ternak dan kompos daun terhadap pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman jagung manis di lahan pasir. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan pasir KP4 UGM yang berlokasi di Kalitirto, Berbah, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Tiga blok lahan pasir (sebagai ulangan) ukuran 6 x 4 m2 ditanami jagung manis kultivar Sweet Boys dengan media pot organik yaitu pot kompos feses ayam, kambing, sapi, daun dan sludge biogas serta kontrol (tanpa pot). Setiap blok terdiri 6 plot ukuran 70 x 60 cm2 dan jarak antar plot adalah 60 cm. Plot dalam tiap blok disusun secara acak. Tiap plot ditanam 5 buah pot organik dengan jarak antar pot 70 cm. Setiap pot ditanami 3 biji jagung manis. Variabel yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan tanaman terdiri dari tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun. Pemanenan dilakukan pada umur 70 hari, kemudian hijauan atau jerami dipisahkan dari tongkol dan ditimbang. Sampel hijauan diambil kemudian dianalisis kadar bahan kering, bahan organik dan protein kasar dan produksi bahan kering, bahan organik dan protein kasar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan variansi rancangan blok acak lengkap dan perbedaan rerata diuji Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tinggi tanaman (178,80cm), produksi bahan kering (84,86 g/tanaman) dan bahan organik (82,75 g/tanaman) yang ditanam pada pot organik ayam lebih baik (P<0,05) dibandingkan pot organik lainnya, sedangkan jumlah daun (9,33) yang ditanam pada pot biogas lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada pot organik lainnya. Lahan (blok) lll memiliki produktivitas yang lebih tinggi (P<0,05) terhadap tinggi tanaman (173,03cm), jumlah daun (9,47), produksi bahan kering (84,19 g/tanaman), bahan organik (80,27 g/tanaman) dan protein kasar (6,34 g/tanaman) daripada lahan yang lainnya. Penggunaan media tanam pot organik pada lahan pasir akan memperbaiki pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman jagung manis dan pot organik yang terbuat dari kotoran ayam adalah yang paling baik. THE EFFECT TYPES OF ORGANIC POTS AS PLANTING MEDIUM ON THE GROWTH AND PRODUCTIVITY OF SWEET CORN (Zea mays saccharata) IN THE SANDY LAND NINA ROAINA (08/265648/PT/05455) ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effect types of organic pots as plant media made from manures and leaves compost on the growth and productivity of sweet corn in the sandy land. The study was done in the sandy land in KP4 UGM at Kalitirto, Berbah, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Three blocks of sandy land (as replications) size of 6 x 4 m2 were planted sweet corn of Sweet Boys cultivar in organic pots made from chicken, goat, cow manure, leaves and biogas sludge compost and control (without the pot). Each block was devided randomly into 6 plots sized of 70x60 cm2 and the space between plots was 60 cm. Each plot was placed of 5 organic pots and the space between pots was 70 cm. Each pot was planted 3 seeds of sweet corn. The variables measured were plant height and leaf number. The corn was harvested 70 days after planting. Forages and corncob were weighed separately. Data of dry and organic matter and crude protein content and production were analyzed using analysis of variance for completely randomized block design (CRBD) and the difference between mean for using Duncan’s test. The results showed that plant height (178,80cm), production of dry matter (84,19 g/plant) and organic matter (80,27 g/plant)) of corn planted in organic pot made from chiken manure was better (P<0,05) than other organic pots, but leaf number (9,33) planted in sludge biogas compost was heigher (P<0,05) than other that organic pots. Plant height (173,03cm), and leaf number (9,47), dry matter (84,86 g/plant), organic matter (82,75 g/plant), and crude protein (6,76 g/plant) production of corn in block lll was heigher (P<0,05) than that other in blocks. It can be concluded that the use of organic pots in the sandy land will improve the growth and productivity of sweet corn and the best organic pot was made from chicken manure.
