Kalibaru Port is a new port located in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, designed to accommodate container ships. Kalibaru Port will feature seven container terminals and two product terminals with their supporting areas. The sea depth around the port is expected to meet depth standards to ensure smooth passage for container ships. Therefore, this final project involves a study to calculate sediment volume changes and the seabed profile shape in capital dredging operations to optimize the safety of the navigation channel at Kalibaru Port.
In this final project, bathymetric measurements were conducted using a singlebeam echosounder and tidal observations. The bathymetric data used were collected before and after the dredging. The measurement data were tested against the IHO S-44 2022 standards. Volume calculations were performed using AutoCAD Civil 3D software with the Average End Area method by creating cross-sections every 20 meters. The 3D model was created using Surfer software with kriging interpolation to monitor changes in the seabed profile. Bathymetric maps were created using AutoCAD Civil 3D for depth grid data with a 35-meter interval and ArcMap software for contour creation, display editing, and map layouting.
Based on the processing conducted, it was found that the bathymetric survey data from November 19 and December 6 met the IHO S-44 2022 Order 1b standards. The tolerance limits for the November 19 data were 0,513 meters and for the December 6 data were 0,515 meters. The volume calculation results showed that the total volume to be dredged to meet the planned channel depth was 263.208,03 m³. On November 19, the volume to be dredged was 114.007,84 m³, and on December 6, it was 9.625,47 m³. The total volume successfully dredged in this capital dredging operation was 253.582,56 m³, or 96%. Based on the profile creation and volume calculation from the bathymetric survey data on October 15, November 19, and December 6, it was found that the seabed profile did not show over-dredging or dredging beyond the design depth, as the depth difference was minimal. The depth map and 3D seabed surface results on December 6 showed areas that could not be dredged, indicated by shallower depths, as the material in these areas was not mud but large rocks.
