Perkembangan sistem informasi saat ini semakin cepat, seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi internet. Berdasarkan berbagai kemudahan yang dimiliki oleh internet, membuat penggunaan internet sebagai media informasi dinamis semakin luas. Namun penggunaan kemajuan teknologi tersebut masih terbatas pada masyarakat di kota besar yang secara umum lebih dulu merasakan perkembangan kemajuan teknologi baik dari sisi perangkat lunak maupun perangkat keras. Pusat Literatur Kristen Betania adalah suatu lembaga yang menyediakan buku-buku rohani sebagai media literatur yang dibutuhkan, khususnya untuk umat nasrani, pelajar atau mahasiswa jurusan theologia, maupun lintas agama sebagai sarana untuk menambah wawasan. Sementara ini pelayanan literatur Betania mempunyai empat tempat untuk pemasaran buku di beberapa kota dengan nama Pusat Literatur Kristen Betania dan belum menggunakan sistim informasi berbasis web. Sistem Informasi Toko Buku Online Betania ini dirancang dengan perangkat lunak ASP dan data base Ms Access, diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman dan pengalaman dalam menggunakan teknologi informasi, bagi masyarakat yang masih awam akan kemajuan teknologi informasi khususnya internet, dengan cara menggunakannya melalui layanan-layanan yang diberikan oleh sistem ini. xii

Information system is growth faster in this time, along with technological progress of internet. Pursuant to various amenity owned by internet, making spreading the dynamic informations wide progressively. But the technological progress use still limited to society in metropolis which in general feel the technological progress growth early. Pusat Literatur Kristen Betania is an institute providing spiritial book as required literature media, specially for the christians which wish to deepen the Christianity, and also student or student of majors of Theologia or cross religion to add the knowledge. For a while this service of literature Betania have four place for the marketing of book in some town by the name Pusat Literatur Kristen Betania and not yet used the information systems base on web. Information System of this Bookstore Online Betania is designed with the software of ASP and data base of Ms Access, is expected can give the understanding and experience in using information technology, for society which not yet recognized the progress of information technology specially internet, by using it through service given by this system
