Analisis Pengaruh Penerapan Praktik Good Corporate Governance terhadap Kinerja Keuangan Publik yang Terdapat di Asia

Kondisi ketidakstabilan ekonomi, politik, dan sosial di Asia mendorong perlunya perusahaan di wilayah tersebut untuk mengimplementasikan pengendalian internal sebagai pendukung keberlanjutan. Salah satu implementasi tersebut melalui praktik corporate governance yang baik. Tujuan dari praktik ini adalah meningkatkan reputasi nilai perusahaan di mata stakeholder, khususnya investor, untuk mendorong investasi modal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh corporate governance terhadap kinerja keuangan, khususnya return on asset (ROA), di 25 negara Asia. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi data panel dengan fixed effect model (FEM) sebagai model estimasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik corporate governance berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap ROA. Penelitian juga menemukan bahwa keberagaman jenis kelamin di dewan direksi memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan, sementara ukuran dewan (board size) memiliki pengaruh negatif yang signifikan terhadap ROA.

The conditions of economic, political, and social instability in Asia necessitate companies in the region to implement internal controls to support sustainability. One of these implementations is through good corporate governance practices. The aim of these practices is to enhance the company's reputation in the eyes of stakeholders, particularly investors, to attract capital investment. This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the impact of corporate governance on financial performance, specifically return on assets (ROA), across 25 Asian countries. The research method employs panel data regression analysis with a fixed effect model (FEM) as the estimation model. The findings indicate that corporate governance practices have a positive and significant effect on ROA. The study also reveals that gender diversity in the board of directors has a significant positive impact, while board size has a significant negative impact on ROA.
