Pengaruh Skor ESG terhadap Kinerja Saham Perusahaan Terbuka Negara Asean-5 : Perbandingan Periode Sebelum dan Saat Pandemi Covid-19

Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari skor ESG terhadap kinerja saham perusahaan terbuka di ASEAN-5, terutama ketika terjadi kondisi ekonomi yang tidak stabil. Kinerja saham diukur dengan menggunakan imbal hasil saham dan volatilitas imbal hasil saham. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 197 perusahaan yang berasal dari negara Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, dan Thailand. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian bersifat time series dan cross section dengan teknik regresi menggunakan data panel. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan periode penelitian tahun 2018-2021, periode tahun 2018-2019 ketika kondisi stabil, dan periode 2020-2021 dengan efek pandemi. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa perusahaan yang memiliki skor ESG memiliki pengaruh negatif terhadap volatilitas imbal hasil saham, tetapi tidak terdapat bukti yang menunjukkan bahwa skor ESG mempengaruhi imbal hasil saham.

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of ESG scores on the stock performance of publicly listed companies in ASEAN-5, particularly during periods of economic instability. Stock performance is measured using stock returns and the volatility of stock returns. The sample used in this study consists of 197 companies from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The data used in the research are both time series and cross-sectional, with panel data regression techniques. The study compares the research period of 2018-2021, the period of 2018-2019 during stable conditions, and the period of 2020-2021 with the effects of the pandemic. The results of the research show that companies with ESG scores have a negative impact on the volatility of stock returns, but there is no evidence indicating that ESG scores affect stock returns.
