Examination rooms and veterinary equipment play pivotal roles, serving as the pillar for accurate diagnosis, efficient treatment, and thorough care. The objective of this thesis is to observe the examination rooms and various veterinary equipment in the context of animal healthcare.
This thesis is done by exploring a wide array of veterinary examination rooms and equipment from 8 different veterinary practices, 4 clinics, located in Sleman, Yogyakarta as well as 4 other clinics, from West Malaysia. The data obtained from all 8 clinics were collected and analysed descriptively from April to May 2024.
The results showed that 4 clinics had examination room sizes ranging from 2x3 m2 to 3x3 m2 and the other 4 clinics had larger measurements. The examination tools available in all clinics were stethoscopes, thermometers, tape, as well as blades and scalpels. Some clinics have additional equipment such as otoscopes, ophthalmoscopes, tongue depressors, penlights, tourniquets and weighing devices. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the veterinary clinic examination room should ideally be 3x3 m2, with basic veterinary equipment present at all times in the clinic.
