Fondasi Metafisis dari Metode Dennettian dan Relevansinya bagi Unifikasi Ilmu Sosial dan Perilaku

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki
fondasi metafisis dari metode Dennettian dan menarik relevansinya bagi
unifikasi ilmu sosial dan perilaku. Penelitian ini berargumen bahwa metode
Dennettian atau fungsionalisme sikap-intensional menyediakan fondasi filosofis
yang memadai bagi naturalisasi ilmu sosial. Meskipun demikian, absennya
kerangka metafisis yang eksplisit dari Dennett berikut pendekatan filosofisnya
yang masih terstruktur oleh bahasa keseharian membuat fungsionalisme
sikap-intensional menghadapi persoalan serius dalam menghadapi problem
unifikasi sains. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berupaya untuk membangun
fondasi metafisis naturalistik yang sistematis sekaligus koheren bagi metode
Dennettian dengan merujuk pada metafisika saintistik Ladyman dan Ross.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian
studi pustaka yang dilakukan melalui empat tahapan, yakni (1) inventarisasi dan
kategorisasi, (2) klasifikasi, (3) analisis dan (4) penyusunan hasil; dan
diolah dengan menggunakan empat unsur metodis filosofis, yakni: (1) deksripsi,
(2) interpretasi, (3) kesinambungan historis, dan (4) heuristika. Objek
material penelitian adalah metode Dennettian, sementara objek formal penelitian
adalah metafisika saintistik Ladyman dan Ross.
Penelitian ini menghasilkan sejumlah kesimpulan.
Pertama, absennya kerangka metafisis serta representasional formal-matematis
dari metode Dennettian dapat diatasi dengan merekonstruksi konsep fungsi secara
matematis, dan dengan itu mereinterpretasi fungsionalisme sebagai ragam strukturalisme
berdasarkan komitmen terhadap saintisme. Kedua, unifikasi lokal di dalam ilmu
kognitif yang diberikan oleh metode Dennettian melalui reformasi konseptual terhadap
pikiran dan kesadaran berperan sebagai fondasi metateoretis bagi unifikasi yang
lebih luas untuk mengatasi disensus ontologis di dalam ilmu sosial dan perilaku.
Ketiga, perspektif kognitif evolusioner Dennettian berperan serta dalam menyusun
epistemologi metafisika saintistik untuk mengakomodasi aspek perspektival dari representasi
pola real melalui konstruksi dunia-nosional serta karakter sosial-institusional
dari pengetahuan saintifik.
This
research aims to investigate the metaphysical foundation of the Dennettian method
and its relevance for the unification of social and behavioral sciences. The
study argues the Dennettian method, or intentional-stance functionalism, provides
an adequate philosophical foundation for the naturalization of social sciences.
However, the lack of an explicit metaphysical framework in Dennett's philosophy,
combined with his philosophical approach still structured by natural language, presents
significant challenges to intentional-stance functionalism in addressing the problem
of the unification of sciences. Consequently, this research seeks to construct a
systematic and coherent naturalistic metaphysical foundation for the Dennettian
method based on Ladyman and Ross’ scientistic metaphysics.
The research employs a literatur study method conducted
through four stages: (1) inventory and categorization, (2) classification, (3)
analysis, and (4) compilation of results; processed using four methodological
philosophical elements: (1) description, (2) interpretation, (3) historical
continuity, and (4) heuristics. The material object of the study is the
Dennettian method, while the formal object is the Ladyman and Ross’s scientistic
metaphysics.
The study has several conclusions. First, the
absence of both metaphysical and formal-mathematical representational framework
in the Dennettian method can be addressed by reconstructing the concept of
function mathematically, thereby reinterpreting functionalism as a form of
structuralism based on the commitment to scientism. Second,
the local unification within cognitive science provided by the Dennettian
method through conceptual reformulation of mind and consciousness serves as a
metatheoretical foundation for broader unification efforts aimed at resolving
ontological disensus within the social and behavioral sciences. Third, the Dennettian
evolutionary cognitive perspective also constitute the epistemology of
scientistic metaphysics to accommodate the perspectival aspect of the real
patterns representation through notional-world construction and the social-institutional
character of scientific knowledge.
