Prevalensi dan Analisis Risiko Feline Infectious Peritonitis Berdasarkan Umur dan Jenis Kelamin di Klinik Hewan Jogja Tahun 2023

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) merupakan penyakit menular pada kucing yang disebabkan oleh virus Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) yang bermutasi. Terdapat dua tipe FIP yaitu tipe basah (efusif) dan tipe kering (non-efusif). Penelitian sebelumnya menemukan bahwa jenis kelamin dan umur berpengaruh terhadap risiko terinfeksinya FIP, namun beberapa peneliti menemukan hasil yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi serta pengaruh umur dan jenis kelamin sebagai faktor risiko infeksi FIP di Klinik Hewan Jogja pada tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan 114 ekor kucing yang positif terdiagnosis FIP pada rekam medis. Sampel dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif dan analitis dengan studi prevalensi dan metode cross sectional dengan bantuan SPSS 27. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa prevalensi FIP di Klinik Hewan Jogja tahun 2023 sebesar 1.10%. Kucing dengan umur ?2 tahun memiliki presentase kejadian FIP lebih tinggi (59.6%) dibandingkan dengan umur >2 tahun (40.4%). Kucing dengan jenis kelamin jantan memiliki presentase kejadian FIP lebih tinggi (68.4%) dibandingkan dengan jenis kelamin betina (31.6%). Faktor umur tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap kejadian FIP (p = 0.072). Faktor jenis kelamin memiliki hubungan terhadap kejadian FIP (p = 0.023), dan jenis kelamin jantan dapat meningkatkan risiko terhadap kejadian FIP 2.40 kali dibandingkan dengan jenis kelamin betina

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is an infectious disease in cats caused by the mutated Feline Coronavirus (FCoV). There are two types of FIP: wet (effusife) and dry (non-effusif). Previous studies have found that sex and age influence the risk of FIP infection, but some researchers have found different results. This study aims to determine the prevalence and influence of age and sex as risk factors for FIP infection at the Klinik Hewan Jogja in 2023. This study used 114 cats that were positively diagnosed with FIP in the medical records. Sample were analyzed descriptively and analytically with a prevelance study and cross sectional method with the help of SPSS 27. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the prevalenve of FIP at the Klinik Hewan Jogja in 2023 was 1.10%. Cats with age ?2 years had a higher percentage of FIP incidence (59.6%) compared to age >2 years (40.4%). Cats with male sex had a higher percentage of FIP incidence (68.4%) compared to female sex (31.6%). Age factor had no association with the incidence of FIP (p = 0.072). Gender factor has an association with the incidence of FIP (p = 0.023), and male gender can increase the risk of FIP incidence 2.40 times compared to female gender
