Evaluasi Uji Keturunan Alstonia angustiloba Miq. Di KHDTK Wonogiri Untuk Mendukung Seleksi Genetik

INTISARI

Pulai adalah jenis pohon serbaguna yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai komoditas penghasil kayu dan hasil hutan bukan kayu (HHBK) yang memiliki manfaat pada hampir semua bagian pohonnya. Pulai darat (Alstonia angustiloba Miq.) merupakan salah satu jenis dari famili Apocynaceae. Plot uji keturunan pulai darat telah dibangun di Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Wonogiri, Jawa Tengah pada tahun 2009. Pengamatan dan evaluasi plot uji keturunan ini telah dilaksanakan secara periodik untuk mendapatkan data dan perkembangan informasi parameter genetik secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) nilai pewarisan sifat, (2) variasi pertumbuhan, dan (3) individu terbaik pada tiap famili di tiap treeplot. Hasil penelitian (umur 14 tahun) memperlihatkan penurunan persen hidup pulai darat (72,67%) dibanding penelitian sebelumnya pada umur 3 tahun (80,4%). Sementara itu, hasil analisis varians menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan famili pada seluruh variabel yang diamati. Nilai taksiran heritabilitas untuk variabel diameter sedikit lebih baik daibandingkan variabel tinggi dan volume. Terdapat korelasi genetik positif antara ketiga variabel yang diamati. Berdasarkan hasil seleksi pada penelitian ini, telah didapatkan 243 individu pohon terbaik. Selanjutnya, disarankan segera dilakukan kegiatan penjarangan pada lokasi pertanaman dikarenakan umur tanaman sudah masuk ke dalam masak tebang.

ABSTRACT

Pulai is a multipurpose tree species that can be categorized as a commodity producing wood and non-timber forest products (NTFPs) which has benefits in almost all parts of the tree. Pulai darat (Alstonia angustiloba Miq.) is a type of the Apocynaceae family. The progeny test plot of pulai darat was built in the Wonogiri Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK), Central Java in 2009. Observations and evaluations of this progeny test plot have been carried out periodically to obtain comprehensive data and development of genetic parameter information. This research aims to determine: (1) the value of inheritance of traits, (2) variations in growth, and (3) the best individual within each family in each treeplot. The results of the study (age 14 years) showed a decrease in the percentage of live in pulai darat (72.67%) compared to previous research at age 3 years (80.4%). Meanwhile, the results of variance analysis show that there is a significant influence of family on all observed variables. The estimated heritability value for the diameter variable is slightly better than for the height and volume variables. There is a positive genetic correlation between the three observed variables. Based on the selection results in this research, 243 of the best individual trees were obtained. Furthermore, it is recommended that thinning activities be carried out immediately at the planting location because the plants are already at maturity.
