Perjuangan Kelas dalam Novel 'Imarah Ya‘qubiyyan Karya ‘ALa` Al-Aswani: Analisis Kelas Sosial Karl Marx

Penelitian ini memaparkan perjuangan-perjuangan kelas yang dialami oleh para karakter yang ada pada novel ‘Im?rah Ya‘q?biyy?n. Novel karya ‘Al?` al-Asw?n? ini merupakan sebuah karya sastra kontemporer yang menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat Mesir modern melalui berbagai sudut pandang karakter-karakter yang beragam. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah teori Kelas Sosial yang dikemukakan oleh Karl Marx. Menurut Marx, kehidupan sosial dibentuk oleh sistem ekonomi kapital yang memisahkan manusia menjadi dua kelompok besar yaitu borjuis dan proletar.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data primer diambil dari novel berupa frasa, kata, kalimat, yang dilihat dari tindakan dan pikiran atau sikap para karakter dalam novel ‘Im?rah Ya‘q?biyy?n. Data yang sudah diperoleh selanjutnya dikelompokkan dan dianalisis dengan perspektif perjuangan kelas dengan teknik homolog, yakni menyandingkan fakta literer dengan fakta sosialnya.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kaum borjuis dalam novel ini diwakili oleh kelompok aristokrat, kelompok pengusaha, kelompok politisi, dan kelompok aparat. Adapun kaum proletar dalam novel ini diwakili oleh kelompok prasejahtera, kelompok pekerja fisik, serta kelompok oposisi pemerintah. Kedua kelompok ini melakukan berbagai strategi untuk mendapatkan modal. Kelas borjuis berjuang mempertahankan posisinya yang sudah mapan dengan kepemilikan modal yang besar, sementara kelas proletar berjuang untuk memperoleh keadilan, kesejahteraan, dan kesetaraan ekonomi. Perjuangan kedua kelas tersebut berupa tindakan menyuap, pencitraan, pengancaman, bekerja keras, penggunaan kekerasan fisik, unjuk rasa, penggunaan jebakan, dan indoktrinasi massa. Perjuangan kedua kelas ini saling berlawanan sehingga kedua kelas terus-menerus berada dalam konflik.

This research presents the class struggles experienced by the characters in the novel 'Im?rah Ya‘q?biyy?n. The novel by ‘Al?` al-Asw?n? is a contemporary literary work that depicts the life of modern Egyptian society from various perspectives of diverse characters. The theory used in this research is the Social Class theory proposed by Karl Marx. According to Marx, social life is shaped by the capitalist economic system which divides people into two large groups: the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.

This research used a qualitative descriptive method. Primary data is taken from the novel in the form of phrases, words, and sentences, which are viewed from the actions and thoughts or attitudes of the characters in the novel 'Im?rah Ya‘q?biyy?n. The obtained data is then grouped and analyzed with the perspective of class struggle using a homologous technique: comparing literary facts with their social facts.

The results of the research show that aristocrats, entrepreneurs, politicians, and officials represent the bourgeois class in this novel. Meanwhile, the proletariat in this novel is defined by the underprivileged group, physical workers, and the opposition group. These two classes employ various strategies to obtain capital. The bourgeois class fights to maintain its established position with substantial capital ownership, while the proletariat fights for justice, welfare, and economic equality. The struggles of these two classes include actions such as bribery, image-making, threats, hard work, physical violence, demonstrations, traps, and mass indoctrination. The struggles of these two classes are oppositional, causing them to be in constant conflict.
