Pengaruh pemediasian Political Influence Behavior terhadap hubungan antara kepribadian proaktif dan kesuksesan karir

2004 | Tesis | S2 ManajemenPenelitian ini mengembangkan dan menguji sebuah model yang menghubungkan kepribadian proaktir terhadap kesuksesan karir melalui variebel mediator political influence behavior, yaitu job-focused influence tactics dan supervisor-focused influence tactics dengan sampel 92 manajer (60 laki-laki dan 32 wanita) dari perusahaan manufaktur dan jasa Di Jogjakarta dan Jawa Tengah. Hasil regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian proaktip secara positip berpengaruh terhadap job-focused tactics dan supervisor-focused tactics. Dan, supervisorfocused tactics secara positip berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan karir subyektip, tetapi tidak pada kesuksesan karir obyektip. Job-focused tactics secara negatip tidak berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan karir obyektif, tetapi temuan yang menarik dalam penelitian ini, jobfocused tactics secara positif berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan karir subyektip. Hierarchical regression analysis menggunakan penilaian kepribadian proaktip oleh manajer dan significant others menunjukkan bahwa, political influence behavior secara parsial memediasi hubungan antara kepribadian proaktip dan kesuksesan karir. Khususnya, variabel supervisor-focused influence tactics memediasi hubungan antara kepribadian proaktip dan kesuksesan karir subyektip.
This research developed and tested a model linking proactive personality and career success through a set of two political influence behavior mediators, such as job-focused influence tactics and supervisor-focused tactics by surveying a sample of 92 managers (60 men and 32 women) from manufactur and service company in Jogjakarta and Central Java. Results from simple regression showed that proactive personality was positively related to job-focused tactics and supervisor-focused tactics. Then, supervisor-focused tactics was positively related to subjective career success, but not to objective career success. Job-focused tactics was not negatively related to objectivel career success, but interestingly, job-focused tactics was positively related to subjective career success. Hierarchical regression analysis using managers and significant-others reports of manager proactive personality demonstrated that political influence behavior was parsially mediated the relationship between proactive personality and career success. Specifically, supervisor-focused influence tactics was mediated the relationship between proactive personality individual and subjective career success.
