Mount Merapi is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia, especially in Central Java Province. One of the secondary hazards caused by the eruption of Mount Merapi is lahar. Rainfall lahars often occur in river areas that have upstream at the top of Merapi. Krasak River is one of the rivers that has its headwaters at the peak of Merapi and often becomes the main route of rain lava flow that carries volcanic materials that can endanger the surrounding population. This research aims to analyze the losses caused by the rain lava disaster of Mount Merapi in Kamongan Village.
The data used in this research are Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) acquisition results and DEMNAS data. Then, lava flow hazard modeling was conducted using the LAHARZ tool. This modeling is done using three volume scenarios, namely 750,000 m3, 875,000 m3, 1,000,000 m3. Then a map was made as a reference for calculating the risk analysis of the impact of the rain lava disaster. The maps are vulnerability map, potential map, and risk map. Calculation of the area of salak plantations and settlements affected by Merapi rain lava overflow was carried out.
Modeling results using the three lava volume scenarios show the areas affected by the Krasak River rain lava overflow in Kamongan Village with a total settlement area of 1,564 m2 (9 houses) and the total area of salak plantation is 128,412 m2. The result is expected to be a reference for disaster mitigation of Mount Merapi.
