Pengaruh Diversitas Gender Dewan Direksi Terhadap Kinerja Profitabilitas Bank Umum yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI)

Fenomena peningkatan kehadiran direksi wanita dalam dewan direksi selama beberapa tahun terakhir, menarik perhatian banyak pihak. Diversitas gender dalam dewan direksi diduga memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dampak dari diversitas gender terhadap kinerja profitabilitas bank umum yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan regresi linier berganda untuk menganalisis data dari bank umum yang terdaftar di BEI pada tahun 2022. Variabel independen adalah diversitas gender dewan direksi dan kinerja profitabilitas yang diukur dengan ROA dan ROA sebagai variabel dependen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diversitas gender dalam dewan direksi tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja profitabilitas bank dengan arah hubungan negatif. Hasil ini menandakan bahwa masuknya wanita dalam dewan direksi cenderung mengurangi pengambilan risiko dan memberikan efek negatif terhadap kinerja profitabilitas bank. Temuan penelitian ini juga konsisten dengan anggapan bahwa wanita lebih berhati-hati, risk averse, dan kurang percaya diri dalam membuat keputusan strategis. Perbedaan hasil dengan penelitian terdahulu disebabkan oleh perbedaan ukuran sampel dan kondisi spesifik bank yang diteliti. Meskipun diharapkan memberikan kontribusi terhadap kinerja profitabilitas bank, perbedaan kecenderungan sifat antara direktur wanita dan laki-laki membuat pengambilan keputusan menjadi lebih konservatif.

The phenomenon of increasing the presence of female directors on boards of directors over the past few years has attracted the attention of many parties. Gender diversity in the board of directors is thought to have a significant influence on financial performance. This study aims to look at the impact of gender diversity on the profitability performance of commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study uses a multiple linear regression approach to analyze data from commercial banks listed on the IDX in 2022. The independent variables are board gender diversity and profitability performance measured by ROA and ROA as the dependent variable. The results show that gender diversity in the board of directors does not have a significant influence on the profitability performance of banks with a negative relationship direction. This result indicates that the inclusion of women in the board of directors tends to reduce risk taking and has a negative effect on bank profitability performance. This finding of this study are also consistent with the notion that women are more cautious, risk averse, and less confident in making strategic decisions. The difference in results with previous studies is due to differences in sample size and the specific conditions of the banks studied. Although expected to contribute to the bank's profitability performance, the difference in trait tendencies between female and male directors makes decision making more conservative.
